Your day-to-day with us

In the central budget unit at Roskilde University we continuously work to ensure a robust and future-proof financial framework. We work closely on larger budget, analysis, and governance tasks. We are responsible for the annual budget process as well as ongoing activity and budget monitoring. As a central budget unit, the unit contributes analyses, impact assessments, and deliverables that support management in the development of the university. Right now we are in the process of consolidating a new financial model at the university, which is a development task that everyone in the budget unit contributes to.

We are seeking to add to the team a person with experience from a politically governed organization and preferably with experience from an organization where you have worked across disciplines, and where you can see that finance supports the core subject areas for the benefit of the entire organization. We need you who can succeed together with a team, but also can challenge with your own initiative.

Your upcoming tasks and areas of responsibility, in collaboration with the rest of the team, will be:

  • Work on and strengthen financial management at the university, both technically and substantively.
  • Various financial analyses, also for external dissemination
  • Project lead on cross-cutting development tasks and responsible for implementing them
  • Join as a permanent controller and sparring partner for a couple of the university's budget units, in line with your other colleagues.
  • Budget preparation for the coming year, including proposals for concrete financial measures and communication of the university's long-term finances.

Your education, experience and personal qualifications

You have experience with financial management and wish to take on process responsibility both in relation to our annual cycle and larger analyses that cross the organization. You have a long higher education degree and can see yourself in the following.

  • You want to participate in close team collaboration where deliverables are often the product of a joint effort.
  • You have a personality that enables you to build strong collaborative relationships across the university and you thrive on taking independent responsibility for progress on tasks.
  • You can think analytically and translate knowledge into solutions and communicate them. It is an advantage to be used to working with Excel in analyses etc., but not a requirement
  • You have good written and verbal communication skills and a willingness to engage in dialogue with your surroundings.

We offer

  • A varied daily life with the possibility to shape your own task portfolio.
  • A central role in an engaged, informal team with a focus on cooperation and professionalism.
