As a specialist in the section, you will actively participate in the conferences and contribute to the interdisciplinary collaboration, Ultrasound ( ultrasound-guided interventions, including block placements, biopsies and aspirations), referrals, trauma, CT biopsy, Emergency code, and supervision of junior doctors, description of outpatient CT and MRI .
A strong professional and multidisciplinary environment
The orthopedics section is particularly characterized by its many multidisciplinary conferences, which provide a framework for professional sparring, discussion of complex issues and presentation of both rare and diagnostically challenging cases.
The conferences include, among other things, rare orthopedic and rheumatologic diseases as well as complex tumor cases and special treatment courses.
The rheumatology conference, which is held once a week, is particularly characterized by a high professional level and a wide variation in clinical problems.
With the many professional areas, a varied case mix and good opportunities for professional deepening, you will have the opportunity to develop and strengthen your competencies within musculoskeletal radiology at a high specialized level.
The department is currently staffed with a Leading Consultant, two consultants and two department physicians. In addition, there are continuously 1-3 junior doctors attached to the section in both introductory and main training positions. The section prioritizes a good collegial environment where professional sparring, supervision and education are a natural part of everyday life.
About the Radiology Department
The Radiology Department is one of the country’s largest radiology departments with an annual examination volume of approximately 300,000.
The department handles diagnostics, examinations and treatment of patients admitted to Aalborg University Hospital as well as patients referred from general practitioners in the North Jutland Region. In addition, the high-specialized radiological functions in the region are handled at Aalborg University Hospital.
The department is distributed over five campuses: Aalborg City Hospital, Aalborg South, Thisted, Hobro and Farsø. The advertised position is physically located on the two campuses in Aalborg.
There is a on-call function included in the position.
Research, development and education
As a university hospital, research and development have high priority. Radiology has since 2014 had an independent research unit that contributes to the professional and scientific development within the specialty.
The department also plays a significant role in the training of both introductory and main specialty radiology doctors. We work purposefully to create a strong learning environment that ensures younger doctors a solid basic education and the possibility for ongoing specialist development.
As a specialist, you will therefore play an important role in teaching, supervision and competence development of the department’s younger physicians.
