Special education teacher wanted for Helhedstilbudet Brøndagerskolen

Are you ready for an exciting challenge as a special education teacher? We are seeking a competent and engaged pedagogue for our special school Brøndagerskolen in Albertslund Municipality. The position is 37 hours per week, with start from 1 November or as soon as possible.

About Brøndagerskolen

Brøndagerskolen is a special school for children and young people with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) under the Danish Education Act § 20(2). The student group spans a wide range in their development levels, and the school provides extensive special education, as well as special pedagogical support. Our focus is on academic, social and personal development, and the school has students from 0th to 10th grade. The school is divided on two sites and uses interdisciplinary competencies to meet the individual needs of the students. This is integrated into both teaching and leisure activities.

Who are you?

We are looking for you who are strong in your relationship skills. You prioritize forming relationships with students, colleagues and parents. Your ability to work in a structured and organized way is crucial, and you must have an eye for each child's resources and potential.

Experience with the target group is an advantage, but we also support you in developing your expertise within ASD.

The school is in continuous development, and applicants must be able to think creatively and renew themselves both individually and as a team. We are seeking a pedagogue who is ambitious on behalf of the children with an interest in children at an early development stage. The ability to grasp the children's cues and maintain balance, even in challenging situations, is important.

Work at Brøndagerskolen can be emotionally demanding and involves close work with students with extensive needs for structure, predictability and regulation. It requires that you can remain calm, maintain overview and professional reflection in situations of high intensity.

The position is not necessarily the right fit if you thrive best in work with a low level of structure, highly predictable tasks or limited emotional engagement.

The position includes both pedagogical work directly with the students, participation in team work and collaboration with parents and cross-disciplinary partners. Preparation, documentation and reflection are a natural part of the task.

The staff participates continuously in skills development, including courses in Structured Visualized Special Pedagogy (SVS), Intensive Interaction and other relevant methods. We prioritize a structured and safe onboarding, where you are offered a mentor, gradual start and systematic follow-up in the probationary period to support well-being, learning and a sustainable match.

Practical information

We hold ongoing recruitment interviews. They are mainly on Mondays 15:00-16:00. However, the final round of interviews is Monday 26.10. at 11:30-13:30.

Employment is conditional on a satisfactory child and criminal record check, and the obtaining of references.

Salary placement is determined by negotiation between the municipality and the negotiating representative organization.
