The Sterilization Preparation at AUH is looking for new staff.

Do you have a health professional background such as SOSU assistant, dental clinic assistant or service assistant? Or do you have experience from e.g. the pharmaceutical industry, food production, cleanroom work/cleaning or as an operating assistant/technician? Do you want to participate in a competency development program where you will be trained as a sterilization assistant and join the reprocessing process for reprocessing of surgical instruments.

We offer you an exciting position in the Sterilization Department, Sterilization Preparation at Aarhus University Hospital as of 1 January 2027 or by agreement.

The position is a full-time job of 37 hours/week with mixed shifts in a three-shift pattern, which are day, evening and night. You must cover at least two of the shift periods and at the moment we are short of staff for day and evening shifts. There will be a minimum of 2 weekend shifts within 12 weeks.

Expectations for you

• you are educated as a social and health care assistant/dental clinic assistant/service assistant or you have experience from e.g. the pharmaceutical industry, process operator, food production, cleanroom work/cleaning or previous employment as a sterilization assistant or operating assistant/technician
• you preferably have experience with reprocessing of surgical instruments
• you are technically minded and have a high degree of orderliness
• you have focus, understanding and work according to the hygienic principles
• you have the desire and ability to work systematically
• you are familiar with IT and eager to work with different systems
• you are approachable and service-minded
• you thrive in development and change
• you take responsibility for your own professional and personal development as well as learning in relation to current knowledge, evidence and correct practice
• you are stable, have a good overview and possess good physical strength as the work is physically demanding
• you have a positive attitude and contribute to a good working environment in a daily life with unpredictability and continuous changes
• you write, speak and understand Danish.

About the Sterilization Department

The Sterilization Department at Aarhus University Hospital is an independent department and comprises Sterilization Preparation, Sterilization Stores, as well as Quality and Competence, with a total of about 155 employees who work around the clock, year-round.

The Sterilization Department services and supplies daily about 65 operating theatres with elective and acute surgical specialties and performs tasks for clinics and smaller departments.

The Sterilization Department is an important part of the supply chain for many patients, as we contribute to the core task – that patients receive the best possible courses. As an employee in the Sterilization Department you work independently and can always get sparring for tasks and priorities. We place a high value on the ability to discuss professional issues. It is important that we can work focused, efficiently and structured in a busy everyday life. We continuously work on quality and development in the department.
