About the job

Do you want to contribute to strengthening the state's digital security? Can you translate strategic goals into concrete security initiatives? Then perhaps you are the person we are looking for as a chief consultant to the Financial Administration's cross-cutting security function.

About the position Cyber security is a strategic priority for the Financial Administration, because our systems support the entire state and contain central data that are crucial for the state's daily operations. Therefore we have a special responsibility to protect both information and society-critical functions from digital threats.

You will become a central part of the security leadership in the Financial Administration and will, as a strategic coordinator, be responsible for creating overview, coherence and progress across the security efforts. You should help management prioritise between important tasks, translate strategic objectives into concrete actions and ensure that security work supports the organization's overall goals.

You will also become part of the existing security team and will be required to solve and be a subject-matter expert on a number of own tasks – usually in collaboration with relevant partners across the organisation.

A substantial part of the role consists in creating common understanding and direction across the organisation. You will therefore work closely with management, system owners, security officers and technical specialists to find solutions that are robust, pragmatic and organisationally sustainable.

You will become part of an organisation where security must work in practice. Therefore the job is rarely about saying no. It is about helping the organisation find solutions that simultaneously support security, operations, innovation and users' needs. You will often find yourself at the crossroads of compliance, technology, leadership and business.

About you We are looking for a colleague who sees security as a leadership and change area – not just a compliance area. You are motivated by creating progress in complex organisations and thrive in the crossroads between leadership, business, technology and security. The role requires that you can translate demands and risks into solutions that work in practice and create value for the organisation.

You

  • is a strong relational partner who builds trust and followership across the organisation and can communicate with both specialists, leaders and business owners.
  • can advise management on security, risks and priorities in a way that supports both security, operations and development.
  • has a sense of proportion and works pragmatically and risk-based rather than rule-based.
  • can create momentum in complex tasks without necessarily having the formal mandate.
  • is skilled at translating complex security challenges into clear decision proposals and concrete actions.
  • has experience with or willingness to bring leadership skills into play in cross-cutting coordination
  • thrives in balancing different considerations and finding solutions when security, user-friendliness, innovation and operations pull in different directions.
  • has experience with information security and a good knowledge of for example ISO 27001, NIS2 and technical minimum requirements, but sees standards and requirements as a means to create better security—not as an end in itself.

We attach particular importance to you being curious, collaborative and solution-oriented. You understand that the best security solutions are rarely created alone, but through dialogue, involvement and shared ownership.

About us You will be employed in the Office for New Solutions and Security, which is centrally located in the Financial Administration. We work as part of the Ministry of Finance's group for an efficient and coherent state. We think cross-cutting and build common solutions that make it easier for institutions to solve their core tasks. We work in strong professional environments across finance, payroll, HR, procurement, digitalisation and IT.

Culture development and awareness are given high priority, and we engage the entire organisation in creating a security-aware environment. We actively adopt new technologies and focus on creating a strong security culture.

With us, presence together with our colleagues means a lot, and we believe that collaboration and knowledge sharing across the agency is essential for a good work environment. At the same time we want to ensure flexibility for our employees, and remote work can be arranged between the manager and employee when it is compatible with task execution.

Employment terms You are employed as a chief consultant under the applicable agreement for academics in the state.

It is a condition of employment that you can obtain security clearance and subsequently maintain it throughout your employment. In connection with the employment, you will be asked to submit a private criminal record certificate, which you obtain via www.politi.dk , or by personal appearance at your local police station. We will tell you more about this during the recruitment process.

The area of employment is the Ministry of Finance with its associated institutions, currently the Ministry of Finance's department, State Administration, State IT, the Financial Administration and the Agency for Employees and Competence.
