About the job

Are you a student with a special interest in politics, society and trade? Do you want to help elevate the interests of Danish business with politicians, media and decision-makers? Then Dansk Erhverv may be something for you.

At Dansk Erhverv we work every day to secure the best conditions for Danish business life. As a student assistant in the Trade department, you will have the opportunity to work very close to the political decision-making process and get behind the scenes in the work of influencing legislation and political agendas – particularly within the areas of security and payments. You will work closely with, among others, skilled political scientists and sharp lawyers.

The pace is high and your tasks will vary a lot from day to day, which is why you should be a “multitasker” with the party hat on, able to take on a varied portfolio of tasks.

As a student assistant you will become an important part of the political engine room at Dansk Erhverv. You will work with a number of highly current agendas, including prevention of shoplifting and strengthening physical security in retail, where we collaborate closely with companies, authorities and relevant ministries, including the Ministry of Justice and the police.

In addition, you will contribute to the political work in the payments area, including the effort to ensure fair and modern payment solutions. The tasks are broad and include everything from research and analyses to drafting political notes, consultation responses and articles.

The department consists of about 20 employees, who mainly work with the interests of retail and B2B trade. The department has other student assistants, as well as a larger student network throughout Dansk Erhverv, which meets for lunch and social events.

Your tasks will include, among other things

  • Write articles about relevant news within security and payments.
  • Preparation of notes, analyses and background material for use in political advocacy.

  • Respond to inquiries from shops and the police regarding shoplifting.
  • Prepare meeting material and participate in meetings with companies and authorities.
  • Participate in the preparation of consultation responses and policy proposals.
  • Contribute to planning and coordination of meetings, events and courses with companies and relevant authorities.

Our expectations of you

  • You are in the middle of a social science university education and preferably have 2-3 years left.
  • You have good writing skills and can convey complex issues in a simple and understandable way.
  • You can work independently and take responsibility for solving your tasks.
  • You can take initiative yourself, and you are good at finishing tasks.
  • You are good at planning, following up and executing.
  • You are approachable and contribute to the good community.
  • You have prior relevant business experience.

Working hours

The position is about 15-20 hours per week spread over 2-3 weekly workdays. There is high flexibility to fit in classes and exam periods. In return we expect you to be flexible when needed.
