About the job
Are you looking for an exciting student job in a good working environment with good development opportunities? Then it might be you we are looking for right now. The Financial Supervisory Authority is seeking a new capable law student (stud.jur.) or HA.jur. who is interested in working with financial legislation and exciting legal issues, including administrative law.
The job
As a student in the Legal Office you will get an outstanding opportunity to get to know the financial sector from the supervisory side and become sharp in the legislative process.
You will among other things have the opportunity to try your hand at drafting statutory orders and assist the office's lawyers in the preparatory legal work. You will also have the opportunity to be attached to one or more of the office's teams. It could be the GDPR team or the North Atlantic team, but you can also receive tasks within other areas covered by the office.
The Financial Supervisory Authority's Legal Office works in a team-based manner and includes, among others, a criminal law team that handles cases about administrative fines proposals in the anti-money laundering area, consults with other offices in the house about police reports, coercive penalties, self-incrimination, jurisdiction, etc. We also provide sparring to the house's other offices on questions within administrative law, GDPR, access to information, and about the financial regulation that the Financial Supervisory Authority supervises.
You will thus get an exciting and educational student job with diverse and challenging tasks that cover a wide range and make the days rarely the same.
About you
We imagine that you are at the end of your bachelor’s degree in law or HA.jur.
You can score the following four characteristics as a good fit for the position
- You are thorough and responsible
You are organized and take responsibility for your work. You deliver high-quality work and can prioritise your tasks.
- You are eager to learn
You are curious and have the courage to develop professionally within a very complex regulatory area.
- You are flexible and proactive
You thrive in an environment with high activity levels where tasks sometimes have short and sharp deadlines, and where you are responsible for ensuring that the tasks are followed through.
- You are positive and service-minded
You enjoy helping your colleagues and are motivated by making their everyday work easier.
We offer an exciting job in a good working environment
You will join the office together with another experienced student and have 21 engaged colleagues who are used to sparring with each other in a professionally strong environment. The level of activity is often high, but there is always room for questions. We place great emphasis on collaboration and a good atmosphere in the office, including social initiatives in the office as well as in the rest of the organization.
Terms of employment
You will be employed under the collective agreement between HK-stat and the Ministry of Finance. The position is for 15 hours per week, and your hours can be arranged flexibly depending on your study activities and examination periods. You will be subject to the internal guidelines that apply to all employees at the Financial Supervisory Authority. In connection with the hire, you must present a criminal record certificate.
The start date for the position is 1 January 2027 or by agreement.
