About the job

Do you want a student job where you get close to international job seekers and gain experience with participant contact, administration and coordination – while also seeing how a politically governed organization works in practice?

In the Employment, Integration and Economic Affairs Administration we run five career programs that help international students, accompanied spouses and other international residents get closer to the Danish labor market.

As a student assistant you will be part of everything that makes the programs function in everyday life – from contact with participants and follow-up to teaching days, workshops and larger events.

We are looking for someone who can both manage the details and lift their gaze from the to-do list. You like getting things done, but also want to understand what they are part of.

What will you be doing?

You will not have one type of workday. Some days start with a participant list and end with an event at Copenhagen City Hall. Others are more about emails, surveys, statistics, follow-up or material for the participants. You will among other things

  • keep track of attendance, no-shows and follow-up
  • have contact with mentees and other participants
  • assist with teaching days, workshops and events
  • work with surveys, statistics and data registration
  • handle administrative tasks across our five career programs.

You will get to know all five programs, so you can help where you are needed, even when the day takes a different turn than planned.

Who are you?

Perhaps you study political science, social sciences, international studies, public administration, communication or something completely different. The name of the degree is not the most important. It is the way you approach the work. We are especially looking for someone who

  • is structured and has an eye for detail
  • takes responsibility and follows through on your tasks
  • can stay calm when several things happen at once
  • thrives with both fixed routines and days when something new lands in the inbox
  • takes initiative and asks when something is unclear
  • is approachable and good at communicating with different people
  • has good IT skills and quickly learns new systems.

It is important that you want to work with international job seekers and help create good frameworks around their path into the Danish labor market.

We emphasize that you master both Danish and English at a professional level, as both languages are an important part of everyday life with us. We speak Danish internally in the team/organization, and all our systems are in Danish, while the teaching, our external materials and the communication with our international participants take place in English. It is therefore important that you can speak and write professionally in both languages.

What will you gain?

You will gain experience with coordination, participant contact, administration, data registration and follow-up. But you will also have the opportunity to see how a large public and politically governed organization works from the inside.

You will get close to the collaboration between instructors, project managers and administrative staff and gain insight into how five career programs are kept running, and how different professional areas and tasks must work together in practice. This can be relevant experience if you later want to work with e.g. public administration, employment, integration, HR, international relations or coordination.

Your upcoming team

You will become part of the Employment, Integration and Economic Affairs Administration in the City of Copenhagen. We run five career programs for international job seekers and also cooperate with 36 other municipalities to support international residents in their job search. You can read more about our programs here. We are a team with diverse professional backgrounds, a strong team spirit and a large commitment to the area. We help each other, share knowledge and have room for questions and ideas.

As a student assistant you will become part of the whole team. You bring your own skills and will also have colleagues you can learn a lot from.

Does that sound like something for you?

Employment terms

The position is around 15 hours per week and can be arranged to fit with your studies. We are based at Gammel Køge Landevej 43 in Valby, and we hope our new student assistant can start as soon as possible.

Do you have questions?

You are welcome to contact chief consultant and team coordinator in the team Mahak Laursen at 20 45 55 93 if you want to hear more about the position or the tasks.

Application deadline: Apply via the link no later than Friday the
