About the job
Are you a student in social work education, and do you dream of gaining practical experience with authority work within the specialized adult field?
You now have the opportunity to become part of a professionally strong and engaged advisory group in the Adult Advisory Service, where you can develop your competences in a professional working environment.
About us
The Adult Advisory Service consists of 23 social workers/social mediators, 2 department heads, 1 center director and 1 administrative staff member. We work with case processing under the provisions of the Danish Service Act for adults over 30 years with physical and/or mental disabilities and adults over 18 who have clarified their means of support.
We work from the Municipality of Kolding’s vision: “Together we design life” and the Social Administration’s strategy “Self-worth and Coherence” . This means that we collaborate across departments and administrations and always put the citizen’s needs and wishes, hopes and dreams at the center. We work to ensure that citizens experience coherence in their processes and receive the best possible support to master their own lives.
As a student assistant you will become an important part of the team and will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced social workers in a daily life where professionalism, collaboration and development are in focus.
Your tasks

- Preparing VUM 2.0 assessments.
- Collecting, analysing and documenting information in cases.
- Participating in citizen meetings as well as internal and external meetings inside and outside the department.
- Preparing and coordinating meetings with citizens and partners.
We ensure that you receive a thorough introduction and a mentor who supports you in your tasks and your professional development.
We are looking for a student who
- Is enrolled in social work education, has completed their internship in a government/authority department and is interested in working within the specialized adult area.
- Has a high level of written proficiency when preparing professional assessments, journal notes, party hearing letters and decisions.
- Can communicate information clearly and precisely.
- Is structured, analytical and detail-oriented.
- Can work independently.
- Is curious, engaged and eager to develop professionally.
- Has an open mind and a respectful approach to citizens, colleagues and partners.
We offer
- A flexible workplace where you can combine studies and work.
- A unique opportunity to gain practical experience with the social worker profession in a municipal context.
- A workplace with high professional standards, a strong sense of community and an informal tone.
- Opportunity for sparring and guidance from experienced social workers.
