A message from the parents

Our daughter is 6 years old and is a happy, social and curious girl with a lot of personality. She has humor and loves to play and have fun. She actually understands a lot more than one might think when you meet her for the first time. She simply does not have spoken language and can therefore not always show us what she understands or respond back. This also means that you quickly learn to read her small signals, sounds, facial expressions and body language – and discover how much is really going on inside her.

She loves, among other things, playing with slime, jumping on a trampoline, being at the playground, drawing and painting, various sensory games - and everything with water, to joke and laugh and not least just to have fun and enjoy herself.

She is cognitively very delayed, with a development level around 1-1½ years. She also has motor and fine motor challenges and cannot anticipate danger herself.

That means that time with her is not the kind of care where you can lean back with a good cup of coffee. We will make coffee, though, but her cognitive level means you must be on the whole time. She cannot focus on the same activity for very long, so you must have energy and capacity to follow her initiative, switch tracks and come up with something new.

The most important for us is therefore that you want to be with her, are caring and patient, and can also see opportunities for what you can do together. You do not need to have experience with children with disabilities. The most important is your way of being with her, your engagement and that you want to get to know her.

There is also a responsibility when you are alone with her. She has epilepsy, although fortunately she has not had a seizure since she was very small. Therefore you must be mature and comfortable with the possibility of having to handle a seizure. You will of course be thoroughly trained in what to do.

There is also a risk that she can choke on food, so you will be very involved with her meals and must pay attention to her while she eats.

We are therefore looking for a person who has both a warm heart and can take the responsibility that comes with being alone with her. Someone who can stay calm, be attentive and at the same time enjoy just hanging out, playing, being silly and having fun with her.

Salary and terms of employment

You are employed for 3 hours per week. You will be employed and paid by Lejre Municipality. The hours are planned in collaboration with the family. They can be in the afternoons on weekdays or on weekends, depending on how the family's and your week looks. It can also be 6 hours every other week.

You must be at least 18 years old.

The family lives in Allerslev, Lejre Municipality.

Hourly wage: 143.22 DKK (2026 level, pay grade 7, Lejre Municipality), plus any allowances that are set and stated in the contract. Wages are paid in arrears on the last weekday of the month to a NemKonto. Vacation pay: 12.5% in accordance with the Danish Holiday Act.

A police check of both child and criminal records will be obtained before employment.
