About the job

We are a school in development, leading the way with green transition and electrification in shipping. With us you will become part of a dynamic team where we combine traditional craftsmanship with future technology. We are currently seeking a new colleague for the ship's fitter apprenticeship.

What will your tasks be?

As a teacher with us you will have a varied day with both theoretical and practical instruction.

Hereunder

  • Teaching in the ship's fitter apprenticeship with focus on mechanics, electrical operation, hydraulics and modern ship technology.
  • Teaching in the metalworking apprenticeships.
  • Teaching in relevant related fields, such as welding and machining.
  • Contribute to the development of teaching materials focusing on green energy, electrification and digitalization.
  • Join a strong professional team where there is focus on both the basic professional skills and the latest technologies within our maritime education programs.

Who are you?

We imagine that you

  • Have passion and pride in the professional aspects of the education.
  • Have the desire to work with teaching and thereby convey your professional knowledge to young people and adults.
  • Want to join a team where collaboration and development are in the center.
  • Have strong values regarding our work with students, apprentices, colleagues and partners.
  • Perhaps already have experience in conveying your knowledge to apprentices. No requirements, the willingness to want is the most important.
  • Are willing to undertake professional training in the parts you may lack experience with.
  • Have a professional background with a journeyman's certificate as ship's fitter or similar education, e.g. agricultural machinery or truck mechanic – with solid practical experience or are willing to undergo further training, within the broad range of tasks that the ship's fitter apprenticeship includes. Including work with diesel engines, electrical operation, steel, hydraulics and possibly other general ship-, electrical- and engine technology.

What you get with us

  • Opportunity for competence development – both professionally and pedagogically.
  • Diploma in vocational pedagogy (if you don't already have it) – paid by us and during working hours.
  • A workplace with high well-being, open culture and room for both professional and personal development.
  • A strong collegial community where we help each other and develop the education together.
  • A school focused on sustainability, innovation and international cooperation.
