About the job

The patient’s first contact at the hospital is important and has a great impact on the further course. Do you want to help be at the very front and make a difference for the reception of acutely ill patients at Aarhus University Hospital?

In Acute Adult Reception we can offer an unpredictable and exciting everyday life, where no two days are the same.

We are a group of dedicated nurses, seeking a new colleague. We can offer a safe and trusting work environment, where there is high job satisfaction and good conditions to develop your nursing. We emphasize that you thrive as a nurse, enjoy working with people, and see fundamental nursing as an important part also of the patient’s acute course.

We expect that you want to develop your skills, and there will be an opportunity to be admitted to the specialist training in Emergency Nursing. If that sounds like something for you, we would welcome your application.

Employment on January 1, 2027 or by agreement.

A bit about the job

As a nurse in Acute Adult Reception you are often the first to meet the acute patient. You contribute to making a concrete difference in the patients’ treatment pathway in a department where professional sparring, supervision and knowledge sharing are highly valued.

You will perform, convey, plan and develop both the basic care as well as the highly specialized acute care in our acute receiving ward, and you will become an important part of a large and multidisciplinary collaboration at the hospital. We have a wide range of patient pathways, which means you will touch on all aspects of nursing in your work.

We offer a solid introductory program, based on your competences. You will be offered a mentor program in the first 4-5 weeks of your employment, and both your supervisor and the introductory and training managers will follow you with ongoing conversations and days of shadowing during the first year.

In Acute Adult Reception, education and guidance have a high priority, which is why students from many different health professions are represented. Therefore you should also expect to be paired with students and to mentor them in cooperation with our clinical supervisors.

As the country’s largest emergency department we have a large patient flow every day. Therefore your tasks will also be of a coordinating nature with the acute patient in focus.

A bit about us

As your future colleagues we are also very different – some of us are new, others are more experienced. Common to us is that we are good at pulling together and that we are there for each other. We think we have a good sense of humor, and we have an informal and friendly tone of voice – even on busy days. We place a high value on our good learning environment, and we also expect that you want to contribute to and benefit from it.

A bit about you

We would like a new colleague who enjoys challenging themselves together with us, and who wants to work with acute medical and surgical patients. You have good communication skills, and furthermore understand how to collaborate and prioritize.

You see and understand basic nursing and acute nursing as equally important and as mutually dependent prerequisites.

You thrive working in rotating shifts with weekend shifts every other or every third weekend. We have a preference schedule for both weekdays and weekends, and you therefore have a great opportunity to plan your working life.

Does that sound like something for you? We look very much forward to seeing your application.

If you have questions, you are very welcome to contact Chief Nurse Sedsel Klint Gustafsson at tel. 3044 4752 or at email [email protected] or Chief Nurse Malene Kjærulff at tel. 2424 2537 or at email [email protected].

Salary and employment terms in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. Employment is conditional on a satisfactory child certificate and a satisfactory authorization.
