About the job

Come and become part of a ward where high professionalism, care and solidarity are our core values. Become part of a team that strengthens the effort for patients with dual diagnosis, and where work with psychiatric and substance-use related issues goes hand in hand.

We are a highly specialized integrated open/closed ward with space for 15 patients. The target group is adults with mental illness in combination with substance misuse, who require acute psychiatric care and treatment. Our patients are admitted with complex trajectories, where psychiatric, social and substance-use related challenges are often closely connected.

Job description

On Ward 05 you will follow patients in short or longer-term courses. As a nurse you will collaborate with professionally skilled colleagues to provide holistic nursing care. Nursing where relationship-building should form the foundation for the whole, so that it is experienced as personal and targeted.

As a nurse you will

  • Take part in the individual patient pathways, where daily tasks can vary from supportive conversations, patient involvement, medication administration, preparation of nursing documentation, milieu-therapeutic activities and coordinating contact with partners.
  • Take part in psychiatric – and medical ward rounds. Medical rounds are our latest initiative, contributing to our holistic approach.
  • Be part of the multidisciplinary collaboration, which is the central focus of our approach to care and treatment.
  • Work purposefully with evidence-based approaches in relative involvement.
  • Collaborate with the primary sector, substance-use treatment and other partners around the patients’ pathways.

Our daily life is characterized by the fact that no two days are the same. We always have exciting workdays with a high degree of predictability, but also days with acute situations, where it is important that you, through professional sparring with colleagues, handle the task together.

What do we offer you?

  • An inclusive and dynamic staff group that prioritizes everyday well-being and has social engagements several times a year.
  • A diverse daily life where you get meaningful tasks linked to psychiatric nursing and the particular complexity of dual diagnosis. Good opportunities to develop your competencies in versatile ways.
  • Good educational opportunities – including the mentoring/guide program and the specialization in psychiatry or have responsibilities integrated into nursing.
  • Ongoing and mandatory courses in “Stress Psychology”, “The Good Conversation” and “Conflict Management”.
  • Daily “Time Out”, where we reflect together and prioritize the tasks.
  • A thorough introduction with a mentoring scheme, which accompanies you closely during the first year.
  • 4 weeks of introduction outside of normal staffing.

We are looking for you who

  • Have experience from a psychiatric specialty, substance-use treatment, somatic specialty or homecare/home nursing, and would like to be challenged and gain qualifications within the combination of psychiatric and substance-use nursing.
  • Are a newly graduated nurse and think it would be exciting to work with dual diagnosis.
  • Are engaged, flexible and have a desire for professional learning.
  • Are able to maintain an overview in acute and emotionally challenging situations.
  • Last but not least are empathetic and possess good collaboration skills.
  • Wish to apply all aspects of the nursing profession.

Substitute function

Conditions

  • Permanent position of 37 hours.
  • Positions are in 2-shift rotation with weekend work every 2nd weekend in 8-hour shifts or every 3rd weekend in 12-hour shifts.
  • You will have significant influence on your own duty roster, as we have a “Wish Plan”.
  • Position to be filled 1.12.26 or as soon as possible
