About the job

The Common Acute Receiving is the entry for all acute patients at the hospital. We receive patients around the clock and ensure professional and caring treatment at a high professional level in all situations.

As a nurse in the Common Acute Receiving, you are a central person in the department's teams. You will be responsible for assessing and caring for acute patients in a professional and empathetic manner. There is always an opportunity for professional sparring with colleagues and specialists, who are available around the clock. There are daily ‘15 professional minutes’ and board meetings, where focus is on professional issues, and where today’s challenges and tasks are allocated. In addition, there is teaching, ethical reflection and interprofessional simulation training.

Our shift planner works to ensure that all staff experience a balance between work life and private life. We are flexible in shift planning and try to accommodate specific wishes, for example fixed days off or a fixed rotation.

At the Common Acute Receiving there is a focus on social relations, and there is a high tolerance for differences. It is a very social department that values collegial interaction both at work and in leisure time. We also place a strong emphasis on the working environment.

The leaders in FAM have physical offices located in the department, which means that there is always management present, and all leaders take part in the clinical work. This creates a sense of community characterized by an informal tone between leaders and staff and makes it easier to maintain an overview when some days are challenged by busy periods.

We offer

  • Individual introduction and training with planned status conversations and continuous teaching opportunities in the department. As a newly graduated, you are not included in the staffing norm in the first 2 months.
  • Possibility for a fixed evening or night shift if desired.
  • An exciting and unpredictable everyday life with professional challenges.
  • If you are a trained behandlersygeplejerske (treatment nurse), there is also the possibility to work in the trauma clinics.
  • A workplace where research projects are part of everyday life, and where you can be involved.
  • Possibility to have a role as a visitator in FAM Common Visitation, where all acute patients are triaged to all hospital sites.
  • Many exciting development opportunities as an emergency nurse, e.g. as a key person within either a specialty or a clinical area, trauma or coordinator role in the department.

  • First floor of the Aabenraa campus with trauma reception, trauma receiving and psychiatric intake. The on-call doctor is also located here.
  • First floor of the Aabenraa campus with single rooms and a short-stay area with chair seating, where acute ambulatory patients are received.
  • Trauma clinics in Sønderborg and Tønder, staffed with behandlersygeplejersker.

We expect

  • That you have clinical experience, preferably with acute patient pathways.
