About the job
A work community with high professionalism in nursing and a strong collegial environment.
Are you passionate about nursing for patients with acute and chronic heart diseases, and would you like to work in a work environment where we both prioritize professionalism and well-being, then perhaps you are the one we are looking for.
We offer a permanent position from February 1, 2027 or by agreement at 32–37 hours per week. You will be on call every 4th weekend (8–8.5 hour shifts). The position requires Danish authorization and is therefore not a probationary/assessment employment. If you graduate as a nurse in 2027, we would also like to hear from you.
The Department – heart patients around the clock, every day of the year
We receive acute heart patients around the clock, every day of the year and work closely with the pre-hospital services, general practitioners and other departments at Sygehus Lillebælt. The inpatient ward and the outpatient clinic are closely integrated, and several nurses have roles at both places. This provides flexible workflows and cohesive patient pathways.
We work in a team-based structure, and employee satisfaction is high. You will become part of an environment where beginners and specialists work side by side, learn from each other and stand together in the tasks. Patients often say:
“We can feel that there is a good atmosphere here – you get on well with each other.”
Work environment and professionalism – we succeed together
We place great emphasis on a healthy work environment where professionalism and well-being go hand in hand. With us you get:
•
- a safe work community with proper and informal tone
- dialogue with one another is important, and we are aware that we all are important to solving the shared core task
- shared and individual breaks during the day, which we value highly, as well as the use of mindfulness to prevent stress and handle emotional demands
- morning songs and social events
- fruit and coffee scheme
- service staff during day and evening shifts, so you can focus on the professional nursing
Humor is a natural part of everyday life – always with respect for each other’s differences and boundaries.
Professional development – nursing in its full breadth
You work with nursing across the entire spectrum – from acute to complex and longer-term trajectories – in close collaboration with patients and relatives. You are never alone in acute or difficult situations, and the interdisciplinary collaboration is close and respectful.
We offer
•
- individually tailored orientation program
- mentor for the first 12 months
- education in cardiological nursing and treatment
- education at morning rounds and daily multidisciplinary huddle meetings
- shared reflection in teams
- supervision by a psychologist every 14 days
- use of simulation as an integrated part of competence development – both in formal programs and as part of everyday learning
The 7 core concepts of excellent nursing and Sygehus Lillebælt’s promises are part of our common professional language and culture and form the foundation for nursing in the department.
What do we expect from you?
The most important thing for us is that you have the desire and willingness to engage with your colleagues, contribute actively to a good working environment. You must have the ability and willingness to work constructively and consciously with your own competence development – including taking responsibility for, and committing to working with your own learning and continuously increasing your professional competence.
We emphasise that you are appreciative when others do something for you, and that you also contribute to the community by doing something for others.
Can you describe yourself as

- Someone who really thrives in a department with a wide variation in tasks, where nursing care of patients is central
- A person who commits to the community and contributes to the development of both nursing and the working environment
