Technical draughtsman / technical designer wanted for a newly created position west of Hobro

For our partner west of Hobro we are seeking a technical drafter / technical designer for a newly created position in a metalworking company specializing in steel constructions and customized solutions.

You will therefore have a central role in establishing the company’s own drawing function. Your primary task will be to translate customer wishes, measurements and technical proposals into precise drawings and production materials that the workshop can build on.

Around 80% of your working time is expected to be spent on technical drawing and construction, while the remaining 20% will be linked to technical documentation and quality assurance (QA).

You will work independently with your drawing tasks, but maintain close dialogue with the company’s management and the production staff. It is important that you understand how a drawing works in practice, and that you can collaborate with those who will subsequently manufacture the constructions.

The position will be shaped and developed based on your competences. If you have experience and desire to take on greater technical responsibility, there is an opportunity to influence both the tasks and the future content of the role.

You will become part of a small company with short decision-making paths, where there is not far from idea to finished solution.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical drawings and production drawings for steel structures
• Translate customer orders, measurements and technical briefs into usable production materials
• Adapt and further develop drawings in dialogue with management and the workshop
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation in connection with the company’s QA work and certification requirements
• Ensure structure and quality in drawing materials and technical documentation
• Contribute to building and developing the company’s internal drawing function

You will succeed in the job when you

• After the first months: Have learned the company’s products and workflows and can independently prepare drawings for a range of the company’s tasks
• After 3-6 months: Can handle the majority of the ongoing drawing tasks and deliver production materials that the workshop can work directly from

About you

We expect you to have a relevant technical education such as a technical designer, technical drafter, mechanical engineer, production technologist or another comparable technical background.

However, the most important are your professional competencies and your interest in technical drawing and construction.
