TENOR/BARYTON - Wanted for Vallensbæk and Helligtrekongers Churches

A position as tenor/baritone is available at Vallensbæk Church and Helligtrekongers Church as of 1 November or as soon as possible. The choir consists of 3 singers (SAB).

We are seeking

• A note-secure chorister with a strong and resonant voice
• A chorister with a flair for both the rhythmic and classical repertoire
• A chorister who is well versed in the Danish hymnody
• Familiarity with newer hymns as well as the højskolesangbogen (we sing as often to piano as to organ)
• A chorister who has the desire and flair for soloist assignments
• Previous experience as church singer or chorister is an advantage

Tjenestepligten omfatter

• High Masses every Sunday and holidays including preceding rehearsal
• Confirmations on four Saturdays in April–May
• 3–5 Christmas Eve services
• Any other church ceremonies that fall on Sundays and holidays
• Service on New Year’s Day (currently at 14:00)
• Additionally participating in 2–3 concerts/music services annually (evening or weekend)

Fixed monthly salary: 7,000 DKK.

The position includes 5 weeks of paid vacation. Also pay during illness.

The churches in Vallensbæk consist of two churches located side by side

• Helligtrekongers Church: A modern concert church – built in 2012 – primary church
• Vallensbæk Church: Medieval church - used on the first Sunday of the month
• The parsonage - between the churches - contains confirmation rooms, kitchen, toilets, meeting rooms, offices, etc.

We have good collegial collaboration and take time to help each other.

The church focuses on music and concert activity, and as part of the position there is also the possibility to participate in various concert projects during the year. We have a children’s choir and a youth choir that occasionally participate in the services. In general, we have a large congregation that values good music.
