About the job
Can you see yourself helping protect Denmark from external threats and safeguard the nation’s security? Do you want to use your testing experience to quality assure the systems that are crucial to our society? And would you help develop solutions that our colleagues use for tasks that don’t exist elsewhere? Then you may be our new colleague.
About the job
As a tester in PET you will become part of a team where we plan and solve tasks together. We work in an agile environment where we meet in person to brainstorm and solve tasks together.
You will become a central part of the ongoing digitalisation and quality assurance of PET’s most critical systems. You will work closely with the rest of the team on solution design, code and testing. Your daily work will be characterised by close dialogue with developers, project managers and the users for whom the solutions are built. We work with the whole solution, and as a tester you are involved from start to finish to ensure that what we deliver holds water.
Your main tasks will be
- Quality assurance throughout the process: You participate in the agile meetings such as stand-up, refinement and sprint planning, where you help ensure that we build the right solutions from the start.
- Test design and execution: Development and maintenance of test cases as well as execution of functional testing, integration testing, regression testing and user acceptance testing.
- Test automation: You contribute to automating tests and deployment.
- Defect handling and resolution: You work with the developers to find the cause of defects and ensure they are resolved correctly.
- Documentation: You share responsibility for ensuring that our test processes and results are documented so they are easy to follow and understand.
About you
We are looking for a person who wants to be part of creating change and making our IT solutions even more robust. Your mindset and your willingness to learn matter more to us than a long list of specific tools.
We imagine that you
- Enjoy collaborating and thrive in a team: You are happy to share your knowledge and take feedback well. You are a colleague others want to work with.
- Have technical experience: You have several years of experience with the testing discipline. You have experience with both manual testing and test automation, and it is valuable if you have knowledge of tools such as Postman and standard test automation tools.
- Are analytical and solution-oriented: You focus on detail but don’t lose sight of how your test fits into the overall architecture.
- Have a good security awareness: You understand the importance of our task, and you take responsibility for the quality of your own and the team’s deliverables.
Feel free to highlight in your application if you have previously ISTQB certification or have experience working in complex IT environments with many integrations.
Enjoy a everyday work that never becomes routine
It takes IT professionals to safeguard freedom, people and democracy, and PET is a large IT workplace. Here, developers, infrastructure specialists, network technicians, self-taught hackers, firewall specialists and many others with an IT background work together.
Some have chosen PET to work with large and complex tasks. Others were attracted by the fact that we design many of our solutions from scratch, develop and implement them. Our colleagues rely on our work, and we are involved from start to finish. Finally, many of us have chosen the job to work on a cause that is bigger than profit and billable hours.
We have a higher purpose.
Our workplace is like no other. Here every day brings new challenges that didn’t exist yesterday. We have a kind of everyday that never becomes routine, and you can have that too.
We offer a community with great professional diversity, which every day works to safeguard Denmark’s and the Realm’s security. You will have many skilled and collaborative colleagues who look forward to getting to know you and together become better at our work. At PET we invest in creating a good working environment as well as developing and strengthening our leaders and employees. We prioritise onboarding and continuing education highly, and you will be equipped for your tasks.
In addition, we focus on work-life balance. Are you sporty? Then we have a training centre. Are you social? Then there is a Friday bar, wine tastings, board games and much more. We also offer flexible hours, a paid lunch break, a pension scheme and up to six months of paid maternity/paternity leave.
PET is an active part of society, and therefore your curiosity about the outside world and new tasks is a good prerequisite for success. If you also maintain a positive approach, see opportunities and quickly grasp new things, you will fit in very well.
In PET we also place high value on certain personal competencies. These are competencies that we believe are essential for all PET employees regardless of professional background. We do this because it is important for us to find the right match. You can read about the competencies at www.PET.dk/job.
