About the job

Are you an analytically sharp and numerically capable student with a flair for investigations, data processing and communication, and would you like to work with the primary school sector in a political organization? Then you might be the new student in the Danish Teachers' Association's Communications and Analysis Department.

As part of the Communications and Analysis Department you will support political decisions and help shape the Danish Teachers' Association's expression in the media. You will become part of the analysis team consisting of three consultants and two student workers. The analysis team supports the association with qualitative and quantitative data, key financial figures and internal knowledge mobilization.

As part of the analysis team you will perform economic analyses based on registry data and other public registers, which are part of the Danish Teachers' Association's political work.

The other staff in the department work, among other things, with press handling, social media, external communication and communication with the association's districts and members. You will work in a department that on a daily basis works to improve teachers' working conditions and strengthen the Danish primary school.

Your main tasks will be

  • Analyses of registry data using statistics and econometrics in DST’s microdata scheme
  • Process and analyze data quantitatively and produce descriptive statistics
  • Develop questionnaires and conduct questionnaire surveys
  • Write analysis notes and other presentations of analysis/survey results
  • Make calculations on primary school economics and socioeconomics
  • Engage in methodological discussions and development of surveys and dialogue with colleagues about the political implications of the knowledge the analysis team creates

We imagine that

  • You are a bachelor- or masters-student - preferably with at least 1 year left of your studies
  • You have a strong academic profile (stud.polit, stud.oecon, stud.scient.pol or similar)
  • You have a sharp analytical sense, strong numerical understanding and flair for handling larger datasets
  • Familiarity with DST’s registers and DST’s microdata scheme – or willingness to learn it
  • You are interested in applied econometrics and analysis of large data sets
  • You work in a structured, thorough manner and are good at working independently.

We offer a varied and diverse daily life, where you will have good opportunities to be challenged and to shape your own tasks. You will work closely with the three experienced consultants in the analysis team. We work project-oriented and in close collaboration on tasks. We emphasize a high quality in task execution, but it is also important for us that we learn along the way. We are an informal and social department with a strong work ethic and good humor.

The weekly working hours are 15 hours, which are placed flexibly with regard to your studies and the task solution. The employment is covered by the collective agreement between the Danish Teachers' Association and the consultant club in the secretariat. The hourly rate for bachelor- or master's students is currently 182.83 DKK per hour. Workplace is the Danish Teachers' Association, Vandkunsten 12, 1467 Copenhagen K.
