About the position

The Interpreter’s Office handles all interpreting and translation tasks, including simultaneous interpretation in the Self-Government's central administration. Translations are usually from Danish to Greenlandic and vice versa of e.g. bill proposals, government of Greenland briefings, major reports, materials for Inatsisartut sittings as well as incoming and outgoing mail from the ministries/agencies.

In addition, internal quality control of all tasks is performed.

Depending on the person’s competences there may also be translations from English to Greenlandic, and simultaneous interpretation to and from Greenlandic at meetings, conferences, etc.

The Interpreter’s Office has introduced a digital translator system, which enforces a new organization of the interpreters’ work. A technical and quality assurance team has been established, and a translator/simultaneous interpretation team, and it is the latter team the position is advertised for.

There is a possibility of decentralised employment if you live outside Nuuk. This form of employment requires a special agreement on decentralised work and local equipment."

Løn og ansættelsesforhold

Salary and terms of employment, including the right to relocation travel and household relocation, in accordance with the agreement/collective bargaining agreement in force at the time of taking up duty between the Greenland Self-Government and the relevant negotiating representative organization.

Bolig

No staff housing is provided for the position. If an applicant already has staff housing through employment in the Self-Government, the right to allocated staff housing is preserved. The staff housing is tied to the employment and must be vacated when the employment ends.
