Aarhus Municipality's Interpreting Service seeks freelance interpreters

Aarhus Municipality's Interpreting Service seeks freelance interpreters in the following languages:

Ukrainian / Russian

Serbian – Bosnian

Urdu

Amharic

Thai

Portuguese

What does it mean to be a freelance interpreter?

· It is an exciting and diverse job

· You are attached to our freelance interpreter corps on an hourly basis

· You must convey and interpret professionally between citizens and the municipal institution

Responsibilities

· The interpreters' tasks consist of oral interpreting for citizens at all municipal workplaces, departments and institutions.

Qualifications

· Broad knowledge of Danish culture

· Ability to convey communication between the parties

· Ability to express oneself in fluent and correct spoken language

· Comfortable using PC and mobile devices, as you will manage your own interpreter calendar in our online interpreting portal.

In addition, flexibility and good collaboration skills are required.

Interpretation can take place via video, telephone, and on-site interpreting

Note: On-site interpreting only takes place in Aarhus Municipality

To be considered as an interpreter, a passing test is required.

Tests are conducted according to the above qualification requirements, in interpreting qualifications in Danish and native language, in interpreting technique and ethics, and in subject terminology within the municipal area

Interpreting experience?

There is certainly an advantage, but not a requirement.
