About the job

Now you have the opportunity to become a descriptive UL radiographer in our well-functioning UL team at the Herlev campus as of January 1, 2027 or by agreement.

We are seeking a skilled descriptive UL radiographer to join our UL team. You will be colleagues with a further 4 other descriptive UL radiographers, 1 SOSU assistant, 7 specialists and 2 secretaries. Collectively we have about 100 years of experience! You can therefore expect to join a team of dedicated colleagues striving for high professional quality.

As a descriptive UL radiographer with us, you will perform independent UL scans and descriptions within the areas of the neck, thorax, urinary tract, abdomen, vessels (DVT and carotids) and extremities. There will be both acute and outpatient patients. In addition, you will assist with physician-demanding examinations, of which a large part are interventions. Thorough and supervised training is offered as needed.

We seek a new colleague who

  • can work independently but also function well in a team
  • has good collaboration skills
  • is enthusiastic about and good at patient contact
  • is stable and hardworking
  • values professional quality and engagement highly
  • is adaptable, as everyday challenges often require this

The UL team currently has 7 UL rooms at the Herlev site and 5 at the Gentofte site, all with high-end equipment (GE, Philips, Samsung). We perform approximately 21,000 UL scans per year. The UL team is part of the Department of Radiology and Imaging, Herlev and Gentofte Hospital, which in total has about 300 employees across the two sites.

Terms of employment

Salary and terms follow the applicable agreement for radiographers: Non-leading staff in the Health Cartel area – agreement 32.17.1. The position is full-time (37 hours/week) without shifts.

The primary function is at the Herlev campus, but since we are a unified UL team, tasks may occur at both campuses.

As of January 1, 2027 all employees employed in the Capital Region of Denmark and Region Zealand will be employed in the Eastern Denmark Region under one employment area.

Authorized health personnel with patient contact who are educated in another EU/EEA country than Denmark and nurses educated outside the EU/EEA must, upon employment in the Capital Region, meet the Danish language proficiency requirements.

Authorized health personnel with patient contact who are educated in another EU/EEA country than Denmark and nurses educated outside the EU/EEA must, upon employment in the Capital Region, have passed a Danish test (Danish Test 3, which corresponds to the 9th grade final exam) or at minimum be able to pass the test no later than 1 year after employment, or have achieved equivalent Danish language proficiency by other means. About the Department of Radiology and Imaging

Become part of a department where high professional standards, innovation/research and strong collegial collaboration go hand in hand.

Herlev and Gentofte Hospital is a central acute and university hospital with activities in almost all clinical specialties and a number of highly specialized functions, including advanced interventional radiology. As a radiology department, we play a central role in patient pathways by delivering high-quality imaging diagnostics that support fast, precise and value-creating clinical decisions.

The Department of Radiology and Imaging is organized across the Herlev and Gentofte sites. For several years we have been in an exciting development characterized by growth, technological renewal and new ways of organizing diagnostics.

At the Gentofte site, elective patient pathways are primarily handled, while the Herlev site has a larger share of acute and highly specialized functions. We are an integrated part of the hospital’s acute patient pathways and work closely with the clinical departments to ensure rapid and precise diagnostics.

You will become part of a professionally strong environment with access to some of the newest imaging technology. We routinely work with spectral CT data and have installed Denmark’s first photon-counting CT for clinical use. In addition, we have modern MRI scanners at both sites as well as advanced facilities in ultrasound, X-ray and fluoroscopy.

We continuously develop our workflows with a focus on bringing diagnostics closer to the patient and the clinic. Based on the principle of "Diagnostics at the Frontline" , we work purposefully with innovation, flow improvements and new forms of collaboration that create value for patients and partners.

On the medical side we work in cross-site teams within

  • Thoracic and oncologic radiology
  • Gastro- and urologic radiology
  • Musculoskeletal radiology and neuroradiology
  • Ultrasound

Research and professional development are a natural part of the department's daily life. We have an active clinical research unit with a clinical research lecturer, post docs and PhD students, and we prioritize an environment where curiosity, learning and development go hand in hand with clinical operations.

Through our participation in the Radiological AI Test Center (RAIT) we work with validation and implementation of artificial intelligence in clinical practice and help shape the radiology of the future.

You will have the opportunity to become part of an ambitious professional community where engagement, development and collaboration are the driving forces behind better diagnostics and better patient pathways.
