About the job

Workplace: Social- and Labour Market Administration

Working hours: 37 hours/week

About the position

In the labor market area we work from the vision: Together we create sustainable paths to jobs – through courage, professionalism and collaboration.

Education and upskilling play an important role in the ambition. Therefore we are seeking an education coordinator who can create strong connections between the companies' needs, the education options and our employment efforts.

As an education coordinator you will be involved in identifying and establishing relevant education and upskilling programs in close collaboration with companies, educational institutions and colleagues across the municipality.

You must be able to translate political goals and labor market needs into concrete initiatives. This requires that you understand the competence needs of companies and can bring the relevant education actors into play.

An important part of the job is therefore to build and maintain strong relationships with companies, educational institutions and partners. You must be able to bring together the right actors and make the collaboration lead to concrete solutions.

Internally you will, together with your colleague, who is an education consultant, make up our education unit. The education consultant, among other things, guides citizens and employees in the Youth and Labour Market area about education and upskilling opportunities. You will have a close collaboration, and there will also be an expectation that you can help each other during peak loads and holidays.

The tasks are varied, and you must thrive both by working strategically and development-oriented and at the same time be willing to drive the tasks in practice. In other words, you should be able to move between long-term perspectives and concrete task solving.

The position is anchored in the Department of Recruitment and Upskilling, which is part of the Center for Business Service and Partnerships.

How we work

In Kolding Municipality we work with the vision: Together we design life, where the core elements we base our work on are the Citizen at the Center and Self-worth and Cohesion. For you this means, among other things, that you must be curious, dare to challenge existing practices and be open to different perspectives and solutions.

We work professionally reflective and use design as a method to explore challenges, involve different perspectives and develop solutions. It means that we do not always know the answer in advance. We are curious about practice, test ideas and use experience and feedback to continuously qualify our solutions.

Therefore you should be willing to ask questions, challenge both our own organization, educational institutions and companies and help find new and better ways to solve the tasks.

Your tasks

Your tasks will among other things include

  • be the lead on Competence Kolding
  • visit companies and identify needs for competence development and initiate relevant education and upskilling programs
  • create and maintain collaborations between companies, educational institutions and the municipality
  • draft applications for relevant education and development funds
  • support department heads and colleagues in the work with education and upskilling
  • follow up on and evaluate the impact of the projects and education programs that are established
  • participate in development projects and other tasks that support the labor market area strategy.
  • contribute to strategic communications work, including highlighting JobKolding9;s work, offerings and good stories – among other things via LinkedIn

Who are you?

We do not envisage one particular profile.

You may come from the employment area, the education sector, HR or another relevant context. Your educational background is not decisive. The most important is that you have relevant experience and broad knowledge of the education sector and can translate ideas and needs into concrete actions.

We place particular emphasis on the following

  • have experience in creating and maintaining collaborations between companies, educational institutions and/or public actors
  • have an eye for the labor market and companies' competence needs
  • have knowledge of current education and labor market trends – nationally and preferably locally
  • can translate needs and ideas into concrete initiatives and programs
  • communicate clearly and are able to build good relations with different partners
  • work independently and in a structured way and can maintain an overview in complex tasks
  • are development-oriented, curious and dare to challenge the “usual”
  • have experience with grant applications – or have the ability to quickly get up to speed in the area
  • thrive in a politically governed organization.
  • it is advantageous if you have a flair for communication and social media and can help translate our efforts and results into good stories

The most important for us is that you can build relationships and collaborate across and at the same time have an eye for driving tasks all the way from need and idea to concrete action.

Who are we, and what can we offer?

You will become part of Recruitment and Upskilling, which is part of the municipal Business Service.

Our task is, among other things, to support companies with qualified labor and contribute to citizens obtaining jobs or education.

We emphasize high professionalism, collaboration and a strong social community. We make an effort to ensure that no one is left alone with their tasks, and we actively work to make each other better.

With us there should be room for professional discussions, different perspectives and trying out new solutions. We prioritize a culture that you want to be part of, and where there is opportunity for both professional development and influence on how we solve our tasks.

The Labor Market Area consists of three centers: Center for Job and Retention, Center for Job and Development, and Center for Business Service and Partnerships, where Recruitment and Upskilling fall under.

In the Labor Market Area we operate with a flexible Friday model, where Friday is generally a home-working day. The position is also covered by the ongoing experimental framework until December 31, 2027, where employees and managers by agreement can participate in a four-day work week.
