Procurement consultant with a knack for good collaboration and an efficient process

Every year Brøndby Municipality buys goods and services for more than DKK 1 billion, from IT and building operation to social interventions and groceries. Each contract we enter into helps decide how far the money goes, and what quality citizens encounter in the daycare, the nursing home and at school.

Good procurements do not come by themselves. They require someone who can understand the needs, knows the market, masters the rules and has the courage to think creatively. Therefore we are seeking a procurement consultant for our team in Procurement & Purchasing and Control.

A job where your procurements become reality

As a procurement consultant you will be responsible for planning and executing procurements from start to finish, from the initial needs assessment and market dialogue until the contract is signed and handed over to operations. You will be the one who translates the needs of the professional areas into strong procurement materials and good agreements that ensure quality, economy and sustainability.

And it does not end there. With us, procurement and contract management work closely together. Our Contract Managers follow the agreements all the way into the operational core and ensure that they are used and complied with. This means you will receive direct feedback on how your agreements work in practice and that the experiences are used to make the next procurement even better.

The position is anchored in Procurement & Purchasing and Control under the Finance Department.

What you will do

• Plan and conduct EU procurements and other purchasing processes across the municipality’s areas of expertise.
• Identify needs together with departments and institutions and translate them into clear specification requirements and contract terms.
• Conduct market dialogue and use your market knowledge to create competition and good solutions.
• Choose the right procurement form and strategy and use the opportunities the rules provide to create the most value.
• Be responsible for evaluation, award and implementation of the agreements, so they are well received in the organization.
• Incorporate requirements for sustainability, quality and follow-up, so the agreements are strong throughout the contract period.
• Collaborate closely with our Contract Managers and colleagues in e-commerce and sustainable procurement.

If you already have experience with procurements, you will have the opportunity here to use it broadly and independently with great influence on both individual procurements and on how we work with procurements in Brøndby Municipality. We imagine that you

• have experience with conducting public procurements and have a good knowledge of the procurement act
• can handle many balls in the air and steer a process safely to completion, even when the timeline is tight
• are good at communicating and can build trust and collaboration with professionals, managers and suppliers
• are analytical, thorough and solution-oriented and want to challenge customary solutions

You may come from a position as procurement consultant, purchaser, lawyer, economist or something entirely different, in a municipality, in the state, in a purchasing association or on the private side of the table. Experience with procurement of social services, IT or operations is a plus, but the most important is your professionalism and your drive.

You will be part of a fast-moving team

Procurement & Purchasing and Control is a young team in strong growth, where there is little time from idea to action. Today we are eleven colleagues with very different professional backgrounds: Two work with procurements, four with control of social fraud, one with controlling and insurance, and one with sustainable procurement and e-commerce. In addition, we have a social-legal contract negotiator who works with housing offers for young people, and a Contract Manager who mainly works with housing for adults and IT contracts.

We are also in the process of hiring two new Contract Managers, and with you we will become twelve. You will have colleagues who share knowledge, help each other and celebrate each other’s results.
