About the job
In this position you will play a central role in developing and strengthening Region of Southern Denmark’s Denmark-Germany cooperation – with the opportunity to influence the direction, deliver concrete results across the border and be part of a dedicated, collaborative team. You will get a broad portfolio of tasks close to both politicians and Danish-German cooperation partners, and together we shall bring the upcoming “Strategy for Denmark-Germany Cooperation 2030” to fruition.
About the job
When you start in the Department of Environment, Mobility and Education, Denmark-Germany Cooperation, you will experience that your new colleagues are curious to get to know you. You will become part of a small four-person team, all working with Denmark-Germany cooperation in their own way. We sit physically together with the rest of the department, which in total counts 23 employees, and in everyday work we collaborate closely – both professionally and socially.
There is talk of a diverse job, where one day you shall prepare agendas and background notes for the regional politicians, and the next day you shall drive tasks and projects that promote Denmark-Germany cooperation. The assignment will need to be carried out in close collaboration with colleagues in the team. In addition, you will also handle tasks related to the Southern Denmark EU Office.
You will, among other things,
- Contribute to implementing the upcoming “Strategy for Denmark-Germany Cooperation 2030”.
- Contribute to the political support of the Committee for Environment, Mobility and Education as well as the Special Advisory Committee on Denmark-Germany cooperation.
- Play an important supporting, developing and follow-up role in Region of Southern Denmark’s cooperation with, among others, the state government in Schleswig-Holstein and other parties across the Denmark-Germany border.
- Support the realisation of the new Interreg program 7A.
- Be the team’s central coordinator for updating and maintaining communication regarding Denmark-Germany cooperation on the region’s website.
- Handle tasks related to interaction with the Southern Denmark EU Office in Brussels, which Region of Southern Denmark funds in collaboration with the Southern Danish municipalities.
Although the above tasks are at the center, you must be prepared that Region of Southern Denmark is a politically led organisation, where tasks can continuously change in line with political wishes and priorities.
Profile
We would like to see that you have
- Relevant higher education and experience.
- A sharp analytical mind and the ability to work independently with the tasks.
- A flair for working in a politically governed organisation and the ability to communicate clearly and simply.
- Strong collaboration skills – both in an ambitious professional environment and in interaction with external stakeholders and colleagues across departments, as well as courage to challenge and contribute ideas.
- Interest in or knowledge of the Denmark-Germany cooperation and of political and administrative structures north and south of the border.
- Experience with planning, facilitating and ensuring progress in development projects and initiatives. You are able to connect the threads in a structured form and communicate clearly and simply, both orally and in writing.
- Knowledge of or experience with EU funds, for example the Interreg program.
- It is an advantage to have German language skills so you can handle both oral dialogue and written material in Danish and German.
If you have gained your first work experience, we would also like to hear from you.
We offer
We offer an exciting position with many different tasks and points of contact. We are a workplace with an informal tone and a good collegial spirit, where cooperation, knowledge-sharing and a strong professional environment are top priorities.
We strive to be an organisation where there is room for the whole person. In our daily work, we focus on making work and private life function together. Therefore we offer a high degree of flexibility, where you largely plan your own tasks. There is the possibility of working from home two days a week when tasks allow. The daily workplace will be in the Regional House in Vejle, only about a 10-minute walk from the train station, but some travel in the border region should be expected.
The position is a full-time role.
