About the job
Do you want to help bring young people closer to education or work? Do you have a knack for CVs, applications and job searching, and are you motivated by seeing young people succeed in the labor market? Then you might be our new youth advisor in Herlev Municipality.
We are looking for an engaged youth advisor for a maternity leave cover with start on December 1, 2026 and lasting until the end of October 2027.
You will become part of a team that works with young people up to and including 29 years old and shares a common focus on helping young people progress toward education, employment and a more independent adult life. We are part of Ungeløftet, where the ambition is to get more young people into communities, education and work and to ensure that more young people have the opportunity to find their way.
As a youth advisor you will be part of an initiative where you both handle official duties and maintain close, guided contact with the young people about their path toward education or work. An important part of your task will be to support the young people in their job search – including identifying competences and job preferences, producing a sharp CV and writing targeted applications.
You must be able to see the opportunities in each young person’s experiences and competencies – even when they do not obviously appear on paper. You must also have an eye for the labor market and be able to translate the young person’s competences and wishes into concrete job opportunities.
Part of the job will also be to support the young person in contacting companies, prepare for job interviews and follow up on the job search. It is about helping the young person to navigate the job search themselves and take the steps that bring them closer to the labor market.
As a youth advisor you will also be responsible for the official task regarding the young people. This means that you must be able to work in a structured manner with case processing, follow-up and documentation and at the same time create a good and trusting relationship with the young person.
We believe that the path to work and education is not the same for everyone. Therefore we work from the individual young person’s situation, resources and wishes. You must be able to balance setting clear requirements with giving the support that makes it possible for the young person to succeed.
You will become part of a team where we work closely together and actively use each other’s areas of expertise. We emphasize sparring, shared responsibility and finding solutions that make sense for the young person.

- You can work structurally and systematically with case processing, follow-up and documentation.
- You can create a trusting relationship with the young person while being clear about goals, opportunities and requirements.
- You can collaborate with both young people, companies and colleagues across professional areas.
- You have strong written and oral communication skills and can express yourself clearly and precisely.
