Young reporters for Rebild Youth School

Do you want to tell stories about life as a teenager – to other young people?

Are you 15-17 years old? Are you curious about people and what happens around you? And would you like a part-time job where you, together with others your own age, tell stories about life as a young person – to other young people? Then one of 10 new youth-reporter part-time jobs might be for you.

Together with nine other youths you will create a completely new youth editorial team. You decide which stories are worth telling, and where and how you want to tell them. It can be the funny, the difficult, the quirky and the everyday aspects of being young in Rebild Municipality.

You will work in five local pairs based in Skørping, Støvring, Suldrup, Nørager and Terndrup, so it is an advantage if you have particular knowledge of one of the areas.

You don’t need to know it all in advance. You will work with, among other things, video, photos, interviews, text and social media – the most important thing is that you are curious, want to tell stories and can take responsibility for a part-time job.

Together you will help decide what the editorial should be called, what it should look like, where the content should be shared – and which stories should be told.

Our editor is responsible for making the editorial team function and is involved in setting up the team, creating the framework and keeping direction – and helps you turn good ideas into content that other young people actually want to see, hear or read.

What you gain

It's a real part-time job where you get paid and gain experience of being in a workplace.

You will have the opportunity to try your hand at communication and journalism, learn to interview and tell stories and work with video, pictures, text and social media. At the same time you become part of a team where you take responsibility and create something new together.

How to apply

You don’t need to write a long application. We just want answers to two things

• Who are you? Tell a bit about yourself and what you like to do.
• Tell us a good story from your local area that you wonder about or find exciting. And why do you think other young people would want to hear about it?

You may answer in text, video or in another way that suits you. And if you already work with producing video or writing texts, please upload some of what you have made. It can also be a school assignment that you think turned out well.

Working hours: 4 hours per week in evenings and weekends.

You will be employed in a youth job at Rebild Youth School and become part of the shared youth editorial team together with nine other young storytellers and the editor. The project is a one-year pilot project.
