Unique hybrid role as a house assistant/pedagogical assistant in a sports kindergarten with a focus on collaboration, movement and development

In our plating kitchen from 2023 Thrine stands. Today is Wednesday, and she is preparing food ready for 90 children. While lunch preparations for the nursery are underway, the pots have been set over for a tasty simmered cabbage dish for everyone at lunch. It is cabbage day and new flavors shall be tested. In the rooms they draw pictures of cabbage and talk about where cabbage comes from, which ones you can eat raw and which you cannot, or which children have tasted before and which are new.

Regularly during the morning, children check into the kitchen; “what are we going to eat today” or “hi Thrine, I got a new dress, take a look” or just a “good morning” as they pass by. The same goes for parents - often to hear about recipes.

Thrine is indeed much more than our kitchen manager - Thrine is a large part of our children's house and the children's daily life. The kitchen is located in the heart of the house, and is central to our daily life. She has been here since we started with the lunch scheme in 2023. We have recently expanded with a nursery department, and therefore Thrine and the rest of the team are looking for a new colleague. A colleague who can juggle vegetables in the kitchen and balls in our sports hall 😊 A person who can bridge between the kitchen and pedagogical practice and co-create a high-quality collaboration.

Precisely, we are looking in Lærkereden for an engaged, developing, playful and present colleague for an exciting combined position, where the hours are allocated with 15 hours as a house assistant in our kitchen and the remaining as a pedagogical assistant in our kindergarten. The position is expected to be filled by 15.11 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is as a rule 37 hours, but if you have another preference for the number of hours, please still apply or call beforehand, and we will discuss it further. The most important for us is that you are the right candidate and match for our team.

About us

The sports kindergarten Lærkereden in Brønderslev contains 75 children in the kindergarten distributed across three rooms and 20 toddlers distributed across two rooms – and a stable staff group of 17 employees. We are a sports institution where movement, play, music and motor skills are a natural part of everyday life. We work to strengthen the children's natural joy of movement and we believe that it creates joy, togetherness and strengthens children's bodily and developmental learning.

In addition, we work daily with care, presence and play in small groups, and we focus on relationships, early learning and children's well-being.

Parent collaboration – from service to collaboration

We work purposefully to develop a culture where day care is not a service – but a committed collaboration between professionals and parents . You will experience management that supports this work in everyday life, and you will meet a culture where we work together with parents to create development and solve tasks in the community. We have an active and engaged parent board, and a newly established support association that works purposefully to raise funds in collaboration with parents and day care.

So who are you? A colleague who can

• Passionate about both the pedagogical work with 0-6 years and a passion for good cooking and child involvement in the kitchen. A culinary education is welcome, but not required
• Create calm, presence, safety and development and value relational work
• Desire to use movement and the body actively in pedagogy.
• See parents as central collaborators.
• Can work in a structured way and take co-responsibility in daily life
• Think in community and wish to co-create bridging between the kitchen and pedagogical practice and see value, quality and necessity in this collaboration
• Work from Brønderslev Municipality's view of children and the strategy "Daycare for all children" , and can work according to the Health Authority's dietary guidelines in cooking
