About the job

Uummannaq Sundhedscenter seeks Social and Health Assistants (which may be filled by nurses if necessary) for exciting and varied work. The town is one of the most beautiful places in Greenland, and is known as Greenland's answer to Mallorca.

Permanent positions may be considered. Greenlandic-speaking applicants are VERY welcome.

We offer

  • Position in mixed shifts, where you in the evening and night shifts will be responsible for the inpatient ward (of course with doctor, nurse and supervisor available).
  • You will be able to use all of your competencies and will likely learn new things, as our ward covers all specialties.
  • Fully furnished housing, paid for through the gross salary.
  • Permanent employment can be considered for Greenlandic applicants or, exceptionally, Danish. In any case there will be a 3-month probation period.

We are looking for you who

  • Have broad competencies, especially from emergency reception, medical or psychiatric.
  • Seek variation and excitement.
  • Have good teamwork skills and know your own competencies.
  • It would be fantastic if you speak fluent Greenlandic. Greenlandic applicants must be able to communicate in Danish.
  • Due to staff shortages, the positions may possibly be filled by nurses/medical students instead. You will of course be employed and paid according to your education, but receive a duty roster that corresponds to an SSA.

About us

  • We are Greenland's third-largest health center and are located 450 km north of the Arctic Circle, which means, among other things, that the first sunrise is February 4 and there is midnight sun from the end of May. From the beginning of November we do not see the sun until February.
  • We have permanent Greenlandic staff who help with interpreting, but also perform many other tasks, such as Lab and X-ray. In addition we have 3 nurses, 1 pharmaconomist and 4 Danish assistants on temporary contracts.
  • We are both a medical practice, a nursing clinic and a hospital for the whole island (about 1400 people), and also service 5 villages (together about 800 people)

Application

Application, accompanied by copies of relevant documents, must be sent in PDF format via www.gjob.dk

Start date: February 1, 2027 (2 positions for 1 1/2 months), April 1, 2027, May 1, 2027 and May 15, 2027 or as agreed. We prefer contracts of at least 3 months.

Application deadline: January 24, 2027

Interviews will be held on an ongoing basis
