Be part of creating play, togetherness and structure for two wonderful children

Are you good at creating calm and presence, and would you like to support a family in Kalundborg? Here, play, creativity and good moments are the focus of your time together.

About the task

You will be a valuable support for a family where one parent uses a wheelchair, and where two children need presence and guidance in daily life. The children aged 6 and 8 both have autism and thrive best in safe, undisturbed surroundings. They need a patient adult who can play with them and guide them through the day.

The boy aged 8 is deeply fascinated by vehicles and machines – especially trains, tractors, cars and various handyman things, while the girl aged 6 loves colors, rainbows and unicorns, and is very fond of creative activities.

Your primary tasks are to be with the children, play, do creative activities or go on small outings. You help set a calm framework for the afternoon and guide the children in the activities. There is always one parent at home while you work, which means you are not responsible for both children alone at any time. Instead you help in the home and with the children so the afternoon runs smoothly for the whole family.

As the children use nappies/diapers, there may be minor personal care.

About you

You have experience with children – preferably with children on the autism spectrum. You radiate calm, work in a structured way and are good at guiding children at eye level.

You can be a trained pedagogue (where you are paid accordingly), or have another relevant background and experience with children with special needs.

Working hours

The position is 9 hours per week with a fixed shift on Mondays from 14:30–18:00. The remaining hours are placed on other weekdays or weekends in shifts of 3–5 hours by agreement with the family.

You will become part of a family-owned company with many dedicated employees. You have a fixed advisor whom you can always consult. Outside office hours there is always a staffed on-call phone, so you are never alone. Salary and pension in accordance with the General Agreement for handicap assistance in citizens' own homes (minus BPA) agreed between FOA and Dansk Erhverv. You are covered by DUOS’ liability and work injury insurance and health insurance is part of your pension scheme.

You will receive relevant induction and ongoing upskilling - and you will not be able to avoid developing yourself both personally and professionally when you work with people with us at DUOS.
