Workshop assistant for a municipal workshop / community service with a social pedagogue

We are looking for an engaged workshop staff member who can combine practical tasks with support, guidance and motivation of citizens in employment and development programs.

You thrive in a hands-on daily life, both indoors and outdoors, and can create structure, security and motivation through concrete tasks, and help shape a meaningful offering for citizens with different backgrounds, including citizens subject to work duty.

At the same time you focus on supporting citizens' path to work, education or increased independence.

About the Workshop

The Workshop at Strandgården is a practical employment offer for young and adult citizens, including STU students, citizens in useful work and other employment-oriented programs. Tasks mainly take place in the carpentry workshop and on the outdoor areas at Strandgården.

Your tasks

• Welcome citizens and create safe and clear framework
• Plan, coordinate, initiate and participate in the daily activities both indoors and outdoors
• Introduce, advise and support citizens in practical tasks
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive work community
• Contribute to developing the citizen's resources and match them to relevant tasks
• Support citizens in developing labor market competencies, with focus on progression, job opportunities and paid hours
• Collaborate with colleagues, caseworkers etc. on citizens' development
• Documentation in, among other things, the professional system
• Contribute to operation, maintenance, order and safety in the workshop.

We imagine that you

• Are educated as a pedagogue (e.g., social or special education) with an interest in practical and crafts-based tasks and preferably with experience in the employment sector
• Are a craftsman or a vocational teacher with pedagogical flair – and preferably with experience in the employment sector
• You have an understanding of employment logic and can work purposefully with progression and a job focus
• You have a mentalization-based approach, and a validating and resource-focused view of young people and adults

• Have an eye for the individual's resources and possibilities, and you can help citizens see their own strengths through concrete activities and small successes

• Can work independently and take responsibility
• Thrive in a varied daily life where tasks and target groups vary
• Has a driver's license for a passenger car

The Workshop is organizationally anchored in the Youth Department at Strandgården in Kerteminde and works closely with, among others, caseworkers, job consultants, UU-guides and STU.

The position is 37 hours per week. The workshop team consists of two employees.

Salary and employment terms

Employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement. The position is classified as a job consultant for 37 hours.

The expected salary range is between 26,850 – 35,450 DKK per month

The stated salary range excludes employer-paid pension, flexi pay and holiday allowance. In addition there may be locally agreed allowances, as well as qualification-, function- and gender-equality allowances. The final salary determination will be based on your qualifications and previous work experience after concrete negotiation with the trade union.
