About the job

Pedagogue sought for a permanent position at 37 hours per week in VoLiS Svenstrup

Would you like to be part of a specialized holistic offering where relationships, structure, and professionalism are the foundation of everything we do – and where you every day help create new opportunities for children and young people who need something special?

VoLiS Svenstrup is seeking a trained pedagogue for a fixed 37-hour-per-week position with start as soon as possible or no later than December 1.

About VoLiS

VoLiS is a special school offering for students from grades 0–10. Our students are vulnerable children and young people with extensive family, social, emotional, and well-being challenges. Common to them is a need for smaller communities, a high adult-to-child ratio, as well as a clear structure and a high degree of predictability.

Students need adults who can remain calm, create overview, and take responsibility for the relationship – even when it becomes difficult.

VoLiS is a full-day service with opening hours from 7:00 to 16:00 and is organized into three teams of 8–12 students per team. As a pedagogue at VoLiS you will need to be able to work with students in all target groups and perform tasks in both the school and DUS (day-care). In the current school year, the primary assignment in the school part will be with our oldest students.

The pedagogical work

Our everyday life is characterized by small teaching groups, screened workstations, and clear boundaries and fixed structures. There are also broad opportunities to work with alternative teaching methods and practice-based teaching where it makes sense.

Students often need extra time, repetitions and close guidance – academically, socially, and personally. We work deliberately to minimize changes and stressful transitions so that the day feels safe and manageable.

Our pedagogical stance is built on low arousal , an appreciative approach and neuro-pedagogy . We believe that children do the best they can. If a child does not succeed, it is an indication that something stands in the way – and it is our task to adjust the frame.

We prioritize prevention, regulation, and relationship work over power struggles. Problematic behavior is viewed as communication, and the responsibility for the relationship always lies with the adults.

About the position

As a pedagogue at VoLiS you will

  • participate in and support the teaching
  • work closely relationally with the students
  • engage in social training and structured activities in small groups
  • actively contribute to the cross-disciplinary collaboration between teachers, pedagogues and management as well as external partners

  • is a trained pedagogue
  • has interest in – or experience with – special pedagogy
  • can work in a structured way and create overview in a complex daily life
  • can remain calm in situations with verbal and physical resistance
  • wants to engage in professional reflection and close collaboration with colleagues
  • takes responsibility for the relationship and meets the children with calm, patience, and clarity

We offer

  • a permanent position of 37 hours per week
  • a workplace with clear pedagogical direction and high professionalism
  • mentoring support and managerial backing
  • a work environment marked by collaboration, openness, humor, and shared responsibility
  • colleagues who are passionate about creating development for children who need something special
