Dem dementia care requires something special

At Kærbo, people with dementia live in different stages of their disease. We experience increasing complexity in residents' needs, and this places great demands on our professional competences, collaboration and ability to adapt our approach to the individual.

For us, good dementia care is not just about performing care tasks. It is about understanding the person, creating security and supporting quality of life – also when the dementia disease makes it difficult for the citizen to express their needs.

We work based on the principles of person-centered care , where the citizen's life story, personality, resources and psychological needs are the focal point of our work.

We believe that behavior has meaning, and that our most important task is to be curious about what the citizen is trying to tell us.

• Have a health-care or pedagogical education.
• Have an interest in dementia care and preferably experience with dementia, psychiatry or citizens with complex needs.

• Have an appreciative and respectful approach to both citizens, relatives and colleagues.
• Can reflect on your own practice and are open to others' perspectives.
• Take responsibility for joint professional decisions and contribute to a consistent approach to the citizens.

You do not need to have all the answers in advance. But you must want to ask the questions, learn new things and develop with us.

What will you become part of?

Plejecenter Kærbo is a dementia-specialized nursing home with 24 residences distributed across three departments with ordinary dementia places, assessment places and special dementia places. In addition, we have a verified day care.

We are a multidisciplinary staff group consisting of social- and health care aides, social- and health care assistants, nurses, pedagogues and an occupational therapist.

We have a high professional ambition level and work with a demand-adjusted approach, where we plan our efforts based on the individual citizen's needs and resources.

With us, professional development is not something that only happens in courses. It is something we create together in everyday life through reflection, sparring and joint professional discussions.

Practical information

We are seeking staff with a health-care or pedagogical education, as we have staff who are pursuing further education and one who is going on maternity leave.

Working hours: By agreement.

Working time: Day and evening shifts and weekend work every 2nd weekend.

Start: By agreement, but in the period December 2026 to March 2027.

Application deadline: November 16.

Employment interviews: November 25 or by agreement.

Salary and terms according to the applicable collective agreement.
