About the job

Are you a nurse and dream of a job where professionalism, community and balance in everyday life come together?

With us you only have weekend shifts every 6th week – and a department filled with engaged colleagues, high specialization and plenty of opportunities to develop yourself.

In short

  • Weekend only every 6 weeks
  • Onboarding with 8 weeks of introduction for new graduates and 6 weeks for experienced nurses.
  • Close follow-up by experienced colleagues
  • High specialization and a good learning environment
  • Great variation in tasks – both acute and elective pathways
  • A strong and warm community with interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Influence on working hours with dialog scheduling

The Urological Ward at Roskilde Hospital treats adults with diseases of the bladder, kidneys, prostate and urinary tract. We have an acute function for the entire Region Zealand and also receive many planned surgical patients. The admissions are short – typically 1-2 days – which provides an exciting flow and great variation in tasks.

The department is moving to the new hospital in Køge in January 2028, and you will therefore be part of an exciting transition to modern and top-function facilities.

We operate two wards, Urinary Tract Surgical Ward 1 where patients are mainly elective and Urinary Tract Surgical Ward 2 with acutely admitted patients. We thus have a total of 32 beds. You are employed for both wards, giving you a broad specialty with plenty of development opportunities and close collaboration across the units.

A team you want to go to work with!

With us you meet colleagues of all ages and backgrounds – and a strong interdisciplinary collaboration between doctors, nurses, SOSU assistants and secretaries. We help each other, learn from each other and make room for questions and reflections.

Our work environment is characterized by

  • A safe learning environment – also for new graduates
  • Focus on quality and professional development
  • Humor, warmth and a social community (both at and outside work, if you want)

What do our colleagues say?

Nurse, employed since 2014

  • "Diversity! No two days are the same – and it’s never boring. I learn something new every day, and I’m actually quite crazy about my work."

Newly employed nurse

  • "I came from a department with a rotating schedule every 2nd weekend. With two small children it was difficult. When I saw the posting about weekend shifts every 6 weeks, I was sold. It’s pure luxury."

Who are you?

  • You are a trained nurse with Danish authorization – newly graduated or experienced.

We are looking for you who

  • Take responsibility for quality and care
  • Contribute to a good working environment
  • Share knowledge and listen to your colleagues
  • Thrive with influence and variation in your tasks

What do we offer you?

  • Start 1/1 2027 or by agreement
  • Hours according to your wishes – preferably min. 32 hours
  • Shift pattern: day/evening or day/night work (we are open to other possibilities)
  • Weekend shifts only every 6 weeks
  • Close follow-up by experienced colleagues until you feel completely ready
  • A management that is there and close to operations.
