About the job

Do you find research into how we age, and how we are affected by disease, exciting? The Clinical Research Department, Amager and Hvidovre Hospital, is looking for a committed and thorough bioanalyst, laboratory technician, or staff member with experience from clinical trials. You will work closely with our skilled researchers who study acute illness, inflammation and aging. Our research develops optimized patient pathways and makes a difference, especially for acutely admitted and elderly patients with multiple chronic diseases.

The Clinical Research Department consists of about 50 staff members who research inflammation, multimorbidity and polypharmacy. In our laboratories we work on identifying and characterizing biomarkers for inflammation and aging, long-term effects of COVID-19, cellular mechanisms of aging (senescence), and interventions aimed at modulating the aging process. We use a range of analytical methods, such as immunoassays, cell culture, flow cytometry, and RT-qPCR.

You will become one of our key personnel in the laboratory and have the opportunity to influence both daily operations and research projects.

You are involved in the entire research process – from inclusion of patients, sample collection and purification, analysis of biological samples, to dissemination of results – in close interdisciplinary collaboration and a dynamic research environment. You thrive in an informal and sometimes unpredictable workday where we help each other achieve goals. You should be good at creating structure and overview in a laboratory with different projects. Your colleagues in the laboratory will ensure you receive a safe and thorough introduction to your tasks and the methods used.

Your days are rarely the same – and vary between

  • Preparation and purification of patient samples for biobanks
  • Analysis of biological sample material on, for example, ELISA, ELLA and Luminex
  • Maintenance of experiment log and data documentation
  • Experiment setup and quality assurance
  • Interdisciplinary coordination and sparring with both students and researchers
  • Logistics and purchasing of reagents and equipment
  • Training of students and visiting researchers from other research environments
  • Aseptic work with cell culture and preparation of media, etc.

We would like you to have experience with or a strong interest in the processes and results of research, and that you have experience with data processing and data documentation. You are an engaged colleague with a desire to work in an exciting research environment with dedicated researchers and students, where it is you who ensures overview and coordination.

You are approachable, helpful, and curious about new tasks and challenges. You work in a structured way, are an experienced IT user, and perhaps you have experience with documentation systems. Experience with clinical studies and analytical methods such as RT-qPCR, cell culture, and flow cytometry is an advantage, but the most important thing is that you are willing to learn, good at collaboration, and solution-oriented in a busy daily life.

About us

The Clinical Research Department is a cross-disciplinary and interdisciplinary workplace where physicians, nurses, physiotherapists, dietitians, human/molecular biologists, pharmacists, statisticians and other professional groups with knowledge about patient pathways collaborate to improve diagnostics, care and treatment. We develop knowledge to benefit our patients and society – with both basic science and clinical methods with a focus on implementation – in a vision of equal health for all, where professionalism and community go hand in hand.

We offer you a fixed-term full-time position for 2 years from December 1, 2026, alternatively January 1, 2026 – with the possibility to negotiate part-time if you are interested.

For the position, it applies that employment as a rule occurs according to the agreement with Sundhedskartellet for non-management staff employed in the regions and expected to be in a position as a research bioanalyst, laboratory technician, or research assistant.

Starting salary may vary depending on the position, seniority, experience and education. In addition to the starting salary you may have the opportunity to negotiate individual allowances depending on the position as well as your experience and qualifications.
