1 introductory position in otorhinolaryngology

An introductory position (8001-22-46-i-7) is available to be filled on 1 December 2026 or by agreement.

The department is the only ear-nose-throat surgical department in Region North Jutland and handles most functions at regional and highly specialized levels. The department assesses and treats a large number of cancer patients and in addition handles benign throat surgery, ear surgery and nose- and sinus surgery with the use of navigation. The department also assesses and treats a large number of patients with vestibular disorders and an increasing number of patients with sleep disorders.

The department has a good and informal working climate, both inter-collegially and with our partners.

The medical staff structure at the Functioning Unit comprises 1 chief physician, 9 consultants, 6 specialists, 7 senior house officers and 7 introductory doctors.

Education

The department has a good educational and learning environment, and specific course modules are offered targeted at doctors in introductory posts.

For the position there is an educational program. Aalborg University Hospital educates new doctors, and one should expect to participate in teaching medical students and colleagues in the department.

On-call structure

The department has 3 on-call shifts and currently consists of an 8-shift emergency on-call team, an 8-shift back-up on-call team and a 9-10 shift front on-call team.

Research

The department is research-active, and the applicant is expected to engage in collaboration with the research-responsible specialist in project work, quality assurance, teaching and research as well as in the development of the department's functions.

Salary and employment terms

Applications for the introductory position are made in accordance with the applicable agreement between Danish Regions and the Association of Junior Doctors.

During employment there may be some absence in Thisted to a lesser extent.

Qualifications

The applicant must be a physician and have completed KBU.
