About the job
Do you want to help shape the future Department of Hematology?
We are facing an exciting development of our department and therefore seek two chief physicians who want to set the clinical direction, drive development, and lead together with dedicated colleagues.
Maybe you already have leadership experience. Perhaps you are a specialist with a desire to take the next step and develop your leadership skills. The most important is that you have professional visions, a people-focused and organizational outlook – and a desire to translate ideas into a clinical everyday life that creates value for both patients and staff.
As chief physician you will be a central part of the department's continued development. You will need to be close to the clinical everyday life, contribute to professional and organizational development, and help create good frameworks for collaboration, well-being and development.
We are seeking two chief physicians – one for the inpatient ward in Hospital City and one for our outpatient clinic on Hobrovej in Aalborg.
About the job
As chief physician, you will be a central part of the continued development of the Department of Hematology. You will have a close collaboration with the head nurse/ chief nursing officer in your ward, and together you will be responsible for the ongoing development of patient pathways, workflows and collaboration in the ward. You will also work closely with the other chief physician and the department management.
Together you will contribute to the professional and organizational development of the whole department. The position includes clinical work, operations management and professional leadership. Personnel management may be included in your area of responsibility, and you will be part of the extended department management. You will not be alone with the leadership task. We value close cooperation in the leadership and offer good opportunities to develop your leadership skills.
The position includes on-call duty with back-up duty from home (on call).
About the department and the tasks we face
We are a committed and dedicated staff group that values multidisciplinary collaboration and works purposefully to develop and optimize our patient pathways. We are organized in cross-disciplinary, diagnosis-related teams and work with restructuring of patient pathways in step with developments in the health sector. As chief physician you will have the opportunity to influence this development.
You will among other things be involved in
- developing and strengthening coherent patient pathways.
- creating good frameworks for multidisciplinary collaboration.
- translating professional and organizational ambitions into practice.
- contributing to a good working environment and an attractive workplace.
- developing the department professionally and organizationally together with staff and the rest of the management.
We have a strong professional environment with a professor, undergraduate training lead, an active research ward and a clinical research unit.
About you
We imagine that you are a specialist with professional ambitions and a desire to take responsibility for both the clinical everyday life and the continued development of the department. You do not need to be an already formed leader. We place at least as much weight on your motivation and your potential as a leader.
We hope that you
- are eager to set the professional direction and create development with others.
- have a focus on both patients, staff and organization.
- can create engagement and bring others along in changes.
- are curious about leadership and either have or wish to develop leadership skills.
- see the value of shared responsibility, influence, and a strong professional community.
- have ambitions on behalf of the department – both professionally, organizationally and in terms of research.
We believe that the best solutions are created together. Therefore it is important to us that employees have the opportunity to have influence on their working conditions and contribute to the development of the department. At the same time we believe that clear leadership and a common direction are essential to create well-being, job satisfaction and a sustainable working life.
