The position includes management support with a particular focus on HR- and finance-related tasks. It is a permanent position with start date 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

As an AC-trainee at the Institute for Public Health you will be part of a research-intensive institute. Our research includes both basic and applied research, and we share the ambition to create knowledge and better health for all. We emphasize thoroughness and quality in all aspects of our activities and in pursuing innovative research that is translated into high-quality teaching.

Our teaching covers public health science, sports science, health science, nursing science, related methodological disciplines and medicine.

With respect for the scientific disciplines we prioritize interdisciplinary collaboration that strengthens research, education and innovation. And we work in a collective commitment to create a healthy and inclusive workplace characterized by open dialogue, mutual respect and an informal tone. We believe that well-being and academic excellence are prerequisites for each other, and both are essential for long-term success. You can read more about the institute here and about the faculty here.

Your responsibilities

Your primary tasks relate to the HR and finance area, where you will support and contribute to ensuring the institute's leadership has a solid analytical basis for decision-making, monitor the institute's activities and ensure appropriate use of the institute's resources. In addition you will have a special task to support the institute's recruitment processes. Your tasks will include both development and operations tasks.

You will become part of a professionally strong administrative environment, where you work closely with the institute's leadership, staff and other administrative colleagues – including partners and colleagues in the Administrative Center at the Faculty of Health Sciences.

We emphasize that you can create progress and quality in daily tasks, that you are proactive, and have a reliable eye for translating decisions into action through execution and follow-up. Besides HR- and finance-related tasks you are expected to contribute to the general secretariat support of the institute's leadership and scientific staff.

Your main tasks

  • Coordinate and manage HR tasks in cooperation with the institute's leadership and other administrative colleagues -- e.g., in connection with recruitment and appointments.
  • Support budgeting and ongoing budget monitoring in collaboration with the institute's leadership and financial staff.
  • Prepare financial overviews, analyses and decision bases for use by the institute's leadership.
  • Contribute to creating coherence between HR, finance and the institute's other administrative tasks.
  • Assist in developing and streamlining administrative workflows in collaboration with the institute's colleagues and the Health Administration Center.

You create overview, and have a good eye for the details that connect HR and finance as well as good recruitment processes. Common to the tasks is that you must be able to work in a structured way, execute and follow up and do this in close collaboration with colleagues in the secretariat and the institute's scientific staff. The precise task portfolio can to some extent be adapted to your competencies and experience. You report to the Secretariat Chief at the Institute for Public Health.

Your competencies

We imagine you have a relevant academic education, e.g., cand.scient.pol., cand.oecon., cand.merc. or similar. You have experience with management support of strategic initiatives and can translate strategic goals into concrete actions and processes. In addition you possess strong analytical competencies and good organizational understanding, as well as good written and spoken communication skills in both Danish and English.

Experience with secretarial support and meeting preparation is an advantage, as is experience from public administration, preferably within the education or health sector, which will be a strength.

As a person you work structurally and responsibly and have a natural ability to create an overview, even when tasks are varied. You take initiative, work independently and are solution-oriented in your approach to tasks. At the same time you are a strong collaborator who can build good relationships across organizational levels and professional environments. You are flexible and thrive with a workday that includes both new challenges and recurring operational tasks. Finally you have interest in and desire to work in a dynamic research and education environment.
