About the job

Do you want to help educate the leaders and HR professionals of the future for the Danish labour market – and are you passionate about communicating professionalism at the intersection of theory, method and practice? Then you are exactly what we are looking for.

Broad professional competence

We are seeking an Assistant Professor/Lecturer with broad management and HR expertise and solid practical experience to teach and further develop our postgraduate and continuing education within leadership and HR – especially with a focus on manager well-being, coaching, conflict management, change management as well as life phases, diversity and inclusion.

About you

As a teacher, supervisor and examiner at our academy- and diploma-level programs in leadership and HR, it is important that you can translate your subject area’s theories and methods into practice-oriented teaching. With a focus on the learning objectives, you should be able to connect the content of the modules to the students’ everyday life and needs, so the instruction becomes both relevant and rewarding.

Since the target group we work with is diverse, it is important that you can adapt your teaching and supervision to different types of students. You should be able to independently develop, design and adjust your learning activities so that they match the students’ different starting points and needs.

Your tasks

You will encounter a range of varied and composite tasks, including

  • Teaching, supervision and examination on, and development of, competence-building education in collaboration with our customers, adopters and partners.
  • Adapting teaching to the target group as well as independently developing and organizing learning activities.
  • Teaching in both physical and virtual learning environments with high professionalism and strong didactic competences.
  • Designing longer, tailored competence development programs in collaboration with colleagues and based on the wishes and needs of our customers, adopters and partners.
  • Further development of the education’s knowledge base and of your professional profile through your own and others’ knowledge activities and knowledge productions.

Your profile

We would like you to have

  • Strong teaching and supervision skills within leadership and HR – especially with a focus on manager well-being, coaching, conflict management, change management as well as life phases, diversity and inclusion.
  • Solid theoretical knowledge of leadership and HR as well as relevant and documented practical experience.
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
  • Business-oriented with strong competencies in co-creating solutions with customers, adopters and partners.
  • A strong facilitator and meeting chair.
  • Has a relevant master’s or candidate degree.

We offer

You will become part of an organization with competent colleagues. In our department we are 29 educational professionals who with mutual curiosity and shared reflection are constantly moving to make a difference for the people we educate and the companies and organizations we collaborate with.

As an employee with us you will have good opportunities to influence the development of our programs in close collaboration with strong and engaged partners. At the same time you will have the opportunity to continuously develop your own professionalism and strengthen your knowledge base.

Workplace

Your primary workplaces will be in Odense and Vejle, but you may also work elsewhere within UCL’s coverage area.

Salary and terms of employment

The position is a full-time role with 37 hours on average per week, starting on 1 January 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

You will be employed in accordance with circular on the state collective agreement for academics and regulation on the job structure for teachers at business academies, university colleges and Denmark’s Media and Journalism College .

The position is governed by the Ny Løn (New Pay) principles.

If you have a different background, you will be employed under the respective collective agreement.

If you are appointed as Assistant Professor, you will enter into an associate professorship qualification program, cf. Regulation on assistant professor qualification, associate professor evaluation and professor evaluation of teachers at business academies, university colleges, Denmark’s Media and Journalism College and certain maritime institutions .

As an Assistant Professor you will be part of UCL’s associate professorship qualification program, where you are introduced to tasks within teaching, research and development. The program also aims to prepare you to prepare an associate professorship application, which in principle must be submitted within the first 3½ years of your employment. An assistant professorship program is for a maximum of 4 years. With a positive associate professorship evaluation you automatically advance to an associate professorship position at UCL.

If you have an associate professorship evaluation under the 2013 Professional College job structure, you will be employed as an associate professor.

If you have an associate professorship evaluation under earlier job structures, you can, by agreement, choose to be employed under the previously centrally fixed salary and employment terms under the 2003 job structure, which can, among other things, affect the size of your associate professorship allowance and the possibility of being appointed as a member of the associate professorship evaluation committee.

You may alternatively agree to a renewed associate professorship evaluation under the current job structure and under the rules in chapter 5 of Regulation on associate professorship qualification, associate professorship evaluation, and professor evaluation of teachers at business academies, university colleges, Denmark’s Media and Journalism College and certain maritime educational institutions .

The evaluation is based on a short 8-page associate professorship application concerning research and development competencies. The application must be submitted to UCL in connection with the recruitment process. The evaluation is decided within 3–6 weeks by an external evaluation committee appointed by UCL. In case of a negative evaluation, employment may proceed under the previous job structure or as Assistant Professor with a shortened associate period.

UCL offers guidance in connection with preparing the application.
