Head of Department of Technology and Environment at Tønder Municipality

We are seeking an engaged and experienced department head for our authority department within Technology and Environment. As department head you will, together with department head Tina Bagge Bonnichsen, be responsible for leading and developing the staff in the department, ensuring efficient case processing with high quality and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.

About us

The Authority Department plays a central role in ensuring green and sustainable development in our local community. We are 41 dedicated and skilled employees in the department, who work with authority tasks within rivers, roads, coastal protection, Tøndermarsken, wastewater, groundwater, agriculture, businesses, soil contamination, waste, nature, building permits, etc.

As a starting point you will have responsibility for the following professional groups: Nature, Rivers, Groundwater, Roads and the Secretariat.

We solve tasks in an informal tone in an open office environment, where a good working environment, flexibility for the individual, knowledge sharing and sparring are important elements in our everyday life.

About you

You are a present leader who can deliver results through your employees. You have influence and the ability to involve your staff in decision-making processes. You can see through complex problems and communicate them in an understandable way. You have strong collaboration skills and can work closely with your leadership colleagues. You can support technical and academic staff in the development of the subject areas. You can engage and motivate your employees, and you are clear in your expectation alignment.

Your educational background is not decisive for us, but we would like you to have experience with public administration.

The position is 37 hours per week, and your fixed workplace will be at Tønder Town Hall.
