The target group of the respite service is children and young people living at home with physical/psychological disabilities who reside in Middelfart Municipality. The majority of the children and young people who use the respite service are pupils at Skrillingeskolen.

Children/young people may have multiple disabilities. These can include autism spectrum disorders (ASD), ADHD or similar disorders, as well as multiple disabilities. In the respite care we use KRAP as a tool and method in relation to pedagogical practice.

We currently have 11 children enrolled in the respite care aged 6–18 years, and there are 4 children at a time on weekdays and 6 children on weekends.

We expect that you would like to help make a difference for the children/young people and your colleagues. We expect that you have experience within the special needs field and preferably knowledge of the autism sector. It is important for us that you work in an appreciative manner and have an eye for the child’s resources. You must be competent adults in terms of relationships. In the respite care we emphasize that the child/young person feels that they have their second home.

We value colleagues who have drive and can motivate children and colleagues. You must be good at collaborating so that we together continue the shared direction and the professional cohesion in a well-functioning staff group.

• That you can create clear and structured frames and a predictable environment
• That you maintain an overview and decisive action in pressured situations
• That you value collaboration with colleagues, parents and external partners
• That you are flexible and stable
• That you have a positive view of people
• That you as a matter of course take care of practical tasks, assist with personal hygiene and general ADL training
• That you thrive with evening/night work and weekend work
• That you have a driving licence

The working hours are 30 hours per week distributed on a rotation of 16 weeks, and shift between morning, evening and night shifts, mainly organized as 24-hour shifts. The shifts are arranged as 24-hour and 12-hour shifts every 2 weekends in odd weeks. It is important for us that you know and thrive with working nights and weekends. On the other hand, the positions offer many days off.

The opening hours in the respite care are

Even weeks

Wednesdays and Thursdays from 15:30 to the next day 08:30

Odd weeks

Mondays and Tuesdays from 15:30 to the next day 08:30

Fridays from 15:30 to Monday 08:30 and afterwards staff meeting 08:30 to 11:30.

Salary and employment terms in accordance with applicable collective agreements.
