Versatile environmental worker for the agricultural sector

Would you like to take care of our environment and help ensure that animal production goes hand in hand with consideration for nature and surroundings? Do you thrive in a varied daily routine, where you have time in the office with good colleagues, but also pull on rubber boots and go out for inspections at animal farms? Then we have a really exciting position for you in our Environment Department.

What does the job involve?

Your main tasks will be inspections and case handling within the animal husbandry area, preparation of permits for larger and smaller animal farms, and handling inquiries from citizens, businesses and politicians. The job consists of a mix of field inspections and administrative tasks, which require good collaboration skills and the ability to think in holistic terms.

The cases are often varied and require dialogue with farm owners, consultants and citizens, as well as cross-departmental collaboration with colleagues in areas such as nature, rural zones, water and construction. It is a field with high political and societal attention, so you must be comfortable in the crossfire between different stakeholders' views, and you must be ready to communicate technical material in an accessible way in notes or political case presentations.

We place emphasis on cross-disciplinary work and helping each other when needed, so you must be prepared to work across the nature and environment field and be able to participate in tasks and projects in other areas as well.

The job offers a lot of freedom to plan your days yourself, and together with your team to arrange your work days both in the field and in the office.

It is an advantage if you have experience from similar positions, but we also encourage new graduates to apply, and we will adapt tasks and training to abilities and level of experience.

About us

You will be part of the core area for Climate, Environment and Business in Holbæk Municipality, where about 130 highly competent employees, together with citizens, businesses and politicians, drive the rapid development that Holbæk Municipality is experiencing these years.

The Environment Department consists of 16 employees distributed across four teams with their own area of expertise. Common to the department is that we solve regulatory tasks in the environmental area, contribute to Holbæk Municipality's ambitions for, among other things, green transition and business services while also placing great emphasis on community – both socially and when we solve tasks in a holistic and cross-cutting way.

Specifically, you will sit in the Agriculture Team together with three close colleagues. In the team, we collaborate a lot across and complement each other well. We prioritize that everyone in the team has a broad portfolio of work, so we make good use of our competences and support each individual's professional development. We are based in an open office landscape by Holbæk Harbour, a few minutes’ walk from Holbæk Station and with parking nearby. We have an informal tone, and it is always possible to ask for help.

Practical info

We aim to fill the position by January 1, 2027. The position is essentially full-time, but other models can be agreed. We are flexible regarding working hours and/or remote work. Salary and employment terms in accordance with the current collective agreement.
