About the job

We are seeking experienced and dedicated nurses for the Intensive Care Unit from 1 February 2027 or by agreement.

With us you will work with patients with one or more organ failures in an environment of high complexity and close interdisciplinary collaboration. Here you make a real difference for some of the hospital's most critically ill patients. We receive patients from all hospital specialties and work closely with anaesthesia, recovery and the operating department.

Who we are

Patients admitted to the intensive care unit have one or more organ failures and require advanced monitoring, treatment and care 24 hours a day, and you will become part of a team that handles some of the hospital's most complex courses.

In the Intensive Care Unit you will become part of a well-functioning team, with skilled and dedicated nurses, comprising a mix of younger and more experienced colleagues, and we work closely together on observation, clinical assessments and technically demanding tasks – always in close dialogue with specialists and other professional groups.

We have a focus on quality and work purposefully with the development and maintenance of competencies within the intensive field and where we, together with you, want to make a difference for seriously ill patients and their relatives. Here you play a central role in providing holistic nursing and the many facets from the basic to the complex care and treatment course. This gives you the opportunity to challenge and develop yourself as a nurse.

As a new employee you will receive a structured introduction with a fixed supervisor and gradual training in the department's procedures, equipment and workflows. You will have the opportunity to develop your clinical and technical competencies, while you are part of a team where collaboration and knowledge sharing is a natural part of daily life.

If you are looking for a position where you work with high complexity, learn something new every day and gain broad insight into intensive care, the Intensive Care Unit may be the right match for you.

The position

The positions are essentially full-time, with the possibility of part-time after the introduction has been completed.

The introduction period lasts 10–12 weeks, structured based on your experience. You will be assigned a supervisor and gradually introduced to all shifts, so you gain insight into intensive care nursing at all times of the day.

We work every other weekend in 8-hour shifts. When you have gained the necessary experience and are well introduced to the department, there is also the possibility to choose a work rhythm with every 3rd weekend in 12-hour shifts. As a rule you will have day shifts combined with either evening or night shifts according to your wishes. We place emphasis on flexibility and you have good opportunities to influence the planning of your own rota.

If you are not a specialized intensive care nurse, you are hired on a three-year contract, which gives you the opportunity to clarify whether the intensive specialty is relevant for you, and whether you want to start the intensive nursing specialization.

We are looking for you who

  • Have an interest in acute and complex nursing
  • Have 2 years of clinical experience
  • Are academically ambitious and take responsibility for the patient course
  • Can maintain overview, thrive in complex situations and can show initiative
  • Have a flair for technical equipment and apparatus
  • Actively contribute to collaboration, professional sparring and a good collegial environment
  • Reflect on own and shared practice, are ready to learn and actively contribute to knowledge sharing and professional sparring

We offer

  • A targeted introduction program of 10 -12 weeks
  • An assigned supervisor during training and a mentor in the first year
  • Access to national and local competency cards in intensive care nursing
  • A work environment characterized by professionalism, trust, humor and strong team spirit
  • Close cooperation with engaged colleagues, ward doctors and other partners
  • Opportunity for sparring – you are never alone
  • Opportunity for professional and pedagogical development (e.g. clinical supervisor, resource person, specialist)
  • Social activities and networks for new colleagues
  • Attractive pay supplements for work in intensive care
