About the job

Are you passionate about high professional standards and high-quality patient pathways? Do you value team spirit and job satisfaction?

Then we have a permanent position for you - full-time or part-time, by agreement!

In autumn 2025, CPLK, Center for Planned Hip and Orthopedic Surgery at Gentofte opened. Here the Capital Region of Denmark gathers uncomplicated elective orthopedic surgeries. The center started with hip and knee arthroplasties, which is the largest area within elective orthopedic surgery. The center, which is to contribute to the development and innovation of elective pathways across the region, will now be expanded further.

The Department of Anesthesia, Surgery and Intensive Care is a large department with many opportunities and in constant development, which is why we would like to offer more operating shifts.

We therefore need more colleagues – we need you!

The Department of Anesthesia, Surgery and Intensive Care is one of the Capital Region of Denmark’s largest departments with about 600 employees. The department is organized at both Herlev and Gentofte Hospitals with a joint chief physician and 2 chief nurses, and it houses a well-functioning, cross-disciplinary research unit.

You can hear from our colleague, Pernille, tell why she thinks you should come and work with us:

Efficient patient pathways and high patient satisfaction are our hallmark

In the department we are about 50 anesthesia nurses, from newly graduated to highly experienced, all with great commitment. We staff daily up to 25 operating shifts, where we provide anesthesia for many different specialties:

  • Orthopedic and hand surgery
  • Urology
  • Sports surgery
  • Abdominal surgery
  • Breast surgery
  • Cardiology (invasive procedures)

In addition, we handle a number of external functions, including 24/7 emergency readiness including MAT call/cardioteam, DC conversions and endoscopy units. We have clinically responsible anesthesia nurses for each area, who together with our key people and clinical nursing specialist elevate nursing throughout the entire patient pathway.

With us, daily life is built around the core tasks of anesthesiology. To secure continued development towards evidence-based practice, we have established professional interest groups within basic anesthetic nursing. We prioritize a good learning environment and work with structured competence development, including competence cards, 5 professional minutes, weekly teaching, interdisciplinary team training, annual theme day, and offers of clinical buddy pairs.

"Career Paths" is our development program with concrete development tools intended to inspire you, clarify your opportunities, and support you in choosing a direction in the department.

We have an established airway group, which regularly arranges teaching and simulation training.

As a new member of the department, you will be part of the hospital's onboarding concept, which is an introduction and training program with a mentor system tailored to your experience and competencies.

Together with our educationally responsible anesthesia nurse we undertake a large educational task, as we are a training site for anesthesia course students (1st, 2nd and 3rd module), prehospital staff and medical students.

Job satisfaction as a guiding principle

In the department we work systematically to ensure a good and constructive working environment, and therefore we prioritize visible leadership, collaboration, and employee involvement. Our shift plans are laid with great individual consideration and with very few shifts. You will be able to choose between a 24-hour shift and two-shift work. Due to low activity during school holidays and public holidays, we primarily take holidays in those periods.

We are looking for a colleague who…

  • Is specially trained in anesthesiology nursing
  • Sees challenges in efficient and good patient pathways primarily for elective patients
  • Finds inspiration through professional and engaged participation in the department's developing and learning environment
  • Acts consciously in behavior as a role model, professionally and personally
  • Is reflective and proactive in task solving
  • Contributes positively to cooperation and the working environment in the department
