Application Technician for the Security Department in the Defence Establishment and Territorial Command

About us

You will become part of the Security Department in the Defence Establishment and Terrain Command (ETK). We are responsible, among other things, for establishing, optimizing and maintaining physical security at all of the Defence's establishments. This ranges from barracks and air stations to naval stations in Denmark, Greenland and the Faroe Islands. Our portfolio of projects is unique, as Establishment and Terrain Command has the full and exclusive responsibility for the physical security at Defence buildings and properties.

You will have a broad contact surface and many engaged colleagues across the country, distributed over 7 locations, who work with planning, resource allocation and advising on security projects. The Security Department ensures that the many complex security projects are coordinated and implemented so that they support the Defence's overall needs across the Realm. In addition to security, the department also provides advisory services within information security, data protection and military security for ETK's employees.

About the position

After thorough training, your primary tasks will be operation, troubleshooting and further development of the applications for the Defence's security and surveillance systems – with a particular focus on our Milestone VMS platform. You will work closely with external suppliers, internal security advisors and end users to ensure that the systems always meet the Defence's strict requirements for high security, redundancy and stable operation.

The position is organizationally located at the Competence Section Security in the Security Department. Your physical workplace will be at one of our security centers, and there is the possibility of geographical flexibility, so your place of employment can be adjusted either in Aalborg, Karup, Skrydstrup, Slagelse or Copenhagen .

Your main tasks will be

• Operations and maintenance of applications for security and surveillance systems
• Daily application operation, log analysis and troubleshooting across platforms.
• Participation in close dialogue with suppliers regarding updates, patches and integrations.
• Participation in projects concerning the integration of new IT solutions
• Advice and technical sparring with internal users and project managers during implementation of new security projects as well as support to users and guidance on the system's functionality
• Case processing and documentation according to the Defence's standards

About you

We imagine that you have a relevant education as a security technician, electrician, IT technician or have built up similarly strong competences through practical experience with application operation.

You are structured, responsible and like to follow tasks through to completion. You are eager to learn new things and participate in the development of the Defence's digital security platforms. You should expect travel for meetings, inspections and tasks across the country.

We place particular emphasis on that you

• Have solid experience with Milestone. It is a significant advantage if you already hold one or more Milestone certifications.
• Have a basic understanding of networks, servers and IT infrastructure in relation to surveillance.
• Work in a structured, analytical way and are able to maintain an overview in complex technical environments.
• Possess good collaboration skills and can communicate technical issues to both technicians and non-technicians.

Terms of employment

Employment is in accordance with the current Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Teachers’ Union and CO10 – Central Organisation of 2010 and the Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Defence’s Personnel Agency and CO10 and the Central Association for Civil Servants for civil employees under the Ministry of Defence’s authority within the Central Association for Civil Servants’ negotiating area (formerly the Defence Civil Service).

Depending on your qualifications and competencies, there is the possibility of negotiating a supplement. There is an employer-financed pension scheme attached to the position.

As an employee under the Defence Ministry's area, you are subject to certain special conditions. You must, among other things, be security cleared and maintain the security clearance throughout your employment.

You have as an employee an obligation to perform service outside the country’s borders, including at units in international operations with a view to participation in conflict-prevention, peacekeeping, peace-making, humanitarian and other similar operations.
