About the job
AREA: Borbjerg 7500
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Are you young at heart, do you have humor, and can you see yourself in a job where you make a real difference for another person?
Then perhaps you are the one I’m looking for!
I am seeking a disability helper who wants to become part of my daily life and who can help me make everyday life work on my terms. The most important thing is that we have good chemistry, and that you can help create a daily life where there is room for practical tasks, relaxation, and good laughter. The work is organized in longer shifts, where you follow a 5-week shift schedule with 8 shifts in the period. This provides a rhythm with shifts spread over the period and consecutive rest periods between shifts.
I am a fresh 19-year-old guy who loves gaming, hanging out with friends, and generally just enjoying life in my own way. When I was in kindergarten, I had an accident in which I broke my neck. This means that today I need help with various practical things in daily life. It has, however, not changed who I am as a person! I am an independent guy with a good heart, a healthy dose of humor, and certainly not afraid to come up with a cheeky remark. I appreciate people who can be themselves, be a bit loud, and contribute to a relaxed and cozy atmosphere.
My daily life is not necessarily filled with activities from morning to night. My energy level fluctuates a lot, and that means there is a difference in what I have the energy for from day to day. Some days I do something, game, hang out with friends, or go out, while other days are quieter, where I might not do much and just need to rest. Therefore it is important to me that you understand that a good daily life does not necessarily mean being active all the time.
Some days a lot happens, while other days are about taking things easy. Both are natural parts of my daily life. I therefore am not looking for a helper who constantly has to come up with activities or ensure that something happens. I am looking for a person who can adapt to the situation and be a natural part of my daily life – whether the day offers experiences or relaxation.
For me, it is about being able to live as independent a life as possible, having the freedom to do the things I love, and at the same time having the necessary help for the things I cannot manage myself.
JOB DESCRIPTION
As my disability helper, you will be my arms and legs so I can make everyday life function and live my life as independently as possible.
Your tasks will vary depending on the day’s plans and my needs. They will include, among other things:
- Help with toilet visits and personal care.
- Help with dressing.
- Help and support with training.
- Light cleaning and practical tasks in the home.
- Support with cooking and other daily chores.
- Help with homework and schoolwork when needed.
- Practical help in connection with leisure activities and social events.
- To accompany me outside the house when I want and have the energy for it.
Some tasks require you to take initiative and be aware of what needs to be done. Other times it’s about being available and helping when needed.
It is important that you can work independently and take responsibility for your tasks, but at the same time have an understanding that it is my daily life, and that the help must be tailored to my needs.
The work takes place in my own home, in connection with school and the activities, social events, or excursions I want and have the energy to participate in.
In short, you help with the things I cannot manage myself, so I get the best possible opportunities to live my life on my own terms.
ABOUT YOU
I imagine you are a responsible and stable person, who is also youthful at heart and wants to naturally fit into a 19-year-old’s daily life. For me, it’s not only about being able to perform the practical tasks. It is just as much about personal chemistry, trust, and understanding. You must be able to be professional when the situation requires, but at the same time be relaxed and natural in the situations where it fits. I am looking for a helper with the following qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Driver’s license B
- Flexible and can adapt to different situations.
- Have respect and understanding for working in a private home
- Be reliable, responsible and dependable
- Have humor and not be afraid of a cheeky remark
- Can work independently and take initiative when needed
- Respect my privacy, my boundaries and my wishes
- Understand that my energy level can vary from day to day
- Be able to thrive with both active days and relaxing days where not much happens
- Be good at sensing the situation and know when help is needed and when you can step back a little.
You do not need to be an expert in everything from day one. The most important thing is that you are motivated for the job, eager to learn, and take the task seriously.
You should be able to be a part of my daily life – without taking up unnecessary space
I should be able to be with my friends and live a youth life, where my helper does not necessarily become the center of attention.
You are there to help me with the practical side, so I can participate on an equal footing with others as much as possible. Therefore it is important that you can find the balance between being helpful and at the same time give me space to be myself.
It’s not about us sharing the same interests or being identical as people. It’s about us being able to function well together and have a good and respectful relationship.
YOU WILL BECOME PART OF A TEAM
As a disability helper you will become part of a flexible and necessary team, where we together ensure that all shifts are covered year-round.
It requires responsibility, cooperation and respect for both colleagues and the task we solve together.
It is important that everyone contributes to making daily life function, and that we can rely on each other. A stable helper makes a big difference for me and for the rest of the team.
You will become part of a daily life where your tasks have a direct impact on another person’s possibilities to live independently.
The job therefore requires both practical understanding, flexibility and the desire to make a difference.
WHY SHOULD YOU APPLY FOR THE JOB?
If you are looking for a job where you can combine responsibility with a relaxed and personal daily life, then this might be the place for you.
For me, it ultimately comes down to having a helper I can trust, who understands that the help should enable me to live my life on my own terms.
If you can see yourself in that role, and you want to become part of my daily life, I would love to hear from you!
