About the job

Our Place Childcare House is seeking pedagogues for our integrated institution in the island street district.

With us we work purposefully on developing high pedagogical quality – we currently have a strong focus on creating a professionally reflective evaluation culture at Our Place, and we want you to come and help support this.

We are looking for you who

  • Wants to be an actively participating adult who enters into play with the children and is motivated to develop an understanding of the importance of play for the child's development
  • Has a reflective pedagogical professionalism and understands how to work systematically
  • Sees yourself as the leader of the children's group and the pedagogical learning environment – and that you work proactively to create direction in your team and independently
  • Is curious, reflective and sees it as a strength to give and receive constructive feedback

Our pedagogical stance Our practice always starts from the political frameworks, including Stronger Learning Communities, Wider Children's Communities and Daycare for All.

In Midtbyen's Daycare we work from Tea Thyrre Sørensen's neuro-pedagogical approach with a focus on the importance of play for children's development and well-being. We want adults who areactively participating in play and support children's participation and relationships from within. We focus on co-regulation, rather than behavior regulation in our approach to the children. We continuously educate the pedagogical staff to Legekaptajn with Tea Thyrre Sørensen.

Mentalization is a central part of our approach – we seek to look behind human behavior and understand people's intentions and needs. We regard collaboration with parents as a central part of the core task in this work.

We practice working systematically with an evaluative culture and professional reflection through sparring and practice arenas, so we continually develop our practice. We are not there yet – but we are well underway – and you can be a co-creator.

With us you will

  • Have a everyday life with small groups and time for immersion
  • Fixed preparation time each week - staff meetings every other week and staff meetings focusing on development and reflection
  • Spontaneous professional sparring in everyday work and 1:1 sparring with the pedagogical leader
  • Opportunity to influence practice and development
  • A workplace with a balance between structure and flexibility

About us We are an integrated institution with 3 nurseries and 2 kindergarten groups located in the heart of Aarhus. We work in small groups based on the children's group experiences and the zone of proximal development - and we focus on participation opportunities for all children. We emphasize qualifying our routines as scaffolding for our day. We place importance on creating a daily life with recognizable structure and predictability for the children; it is necessary that you can commit to this.

We will be 3 pedagogues and 1 assistant in each of the two kindergarten groups and in the nursery 2 pedagogues and 2 assistants per group.

We are part of Midtbyen's Daycare – a strong professional community with many competencies and development opportunities.
