About your upcoming job
Fellowmind Managed Platform is our common platform for standardized, secure and efficient management of customers' Azure environments. The platform combines automation, governance and managed services in a scalable solution that is continuously developed in line with customers' needs and Microsoft's technologies.
As a Senior Azure Architect you will have a central role in the platform's technical development. You will share responsibility that FMP has a clear architecture, can be scaled across customers and at the same time is secure, operationally friendly and easy to further develop.
You work both strategically and hands-on. You must be able to drive a design process and make technical decisions, but also be close enough to the implementation to ensure the architecture works in practice.
Your tasks will include
- Set the technical direction for FMP and translate it into concrete, prioritized improvements
- Design standardized and scalable solutions across customer environments
- Drive technical clarification and produce short, precise design documents
- Ensure coherence between architecture, security, governance, operations and customer experience
- Qualify complex customer requirements and translate them into reusable features and services
- Conduct technical reviews and ensure quality in design and implementation
- Identify technical debt, risks and opportunities for automation
- Support onboarding of complex customers and handle technical escalations
- Collaborate with customers, architects and internal stakeholders on roadmaps and solution choices
- Mentor colleagues and contribute to raising the team's technical level
- Create common standards, documentation and decision basis
- Actively contribute to implementation, troubleshooting and proofs of concept when the task requires it
How we work
The FMP team works according to the Golazo principles. This means, among other things, that we create a shared context before we implement, limit the amount of ongoing work and prioritize small deliverables that can be validated quickly.
In the role you will have a special responsibility to ensure that the design clarification has the right quality. It is not about producing heavy architectural documents, but about making goals, dependencies, risks, tests and key decisions clear, while it remains cheap to change direction.
You will not be the only one who has to make technical decisions. An important part of the role is precisely to create frameworks, knowledge and common principles, so the team can take broader technical ownership.
About the team
You will become part of our Cloud, Security & Operations team and will play a central role in the interdisciplinary team around FMP.
The team consists of consultants and architects with a variety of strengths in Azure, automation, security, software development and managed services. We work across Fellowmind locations and countries, and the platform's decisions must therefore be able to work in several organizational and customer contexts.
We succeed as a team and expect you to contribute with both technical direction and space for others' perspectives. The role is not about being the person who has all the answers, but about helping the team ask the right questions and make sound decisions.
About your competencies
We imagine you have a solid background in Azure, cloud architecture or platform engineering and have experience taking technical responsibility for solutions that must be robust, secure and scalable over time. You have worked hands-on with the Azure platform and designed architectures where security, governance, operations and flexibility have been central considerations. At the same time you are comfortable with Infrastructure as Code, automation and CI/CD and see the value in building platforms that are easy to maintain and easy to evolve.
As a person you are able to translate complex business and technical requirements into a clear technical direction. You can quickly identify the most significant risks and trade-offs in a solution and make well-founded decisions accordingly. In addition you can communicate architecture and technical choices in a way that makes sense to specialists, customers and decision-makers.
It is also important to us that you thrive in a role where you make others better. You have experience with professional sparring, technical reviews or mentoring and are motivated by sharing knowledge and creating direction without becoming a bottleneck for the team. You work well at the intersection of long-term platform development and concrete customer tasks, where you both contribute strategically and make things happen in practice.
It is an advantage if you have deep experience in several of the following areas
- Azure landing zones and platform architecture
- Azure Policy, management groups, RBAC and Microsoft Entra ID
- Bicep, Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code
- Azure DevOps, Git, branching strategies and CI/CD
- Platform engineering and self-service concepts
- Security by design and Zero Trust
- Monitoring, logging, observability and incident management
- Cloud Adoption Framework and Well-Architected Framework
- FinOps and optimization of cloud consumption
- Product development or development of common platform capabilities
About you
You take responsibility for the whole and are interested in both the technical solution, the team's way of working and the value the customer experiences.
You can make decisions when needed, but you are also curious about others' perspectives. You use reviews and professional disagreement to improve the solution rather than defend your own proposal.
You are pragmatic and can distinguish between decisions that require thorough clarification and details that can wait. You also know that an architecture only has value when the team can understand, implement and operate it.
When something goes wrong, you look for the cause in the system and the way of working rather than blaming someone. You share your knowledge actively and deliberately work to make the team less dependent on individuals.
