Maternity cover - cook or nutrition assistant for Fjerritslev School

Are you passionate about healthy food for children, and do you want to create food joy for the students at Fjerritslev School? Then you are the one we need!

Our fantastic cook goes on maternity leave, and therefore we need you.

Fjerritslev School has for 15 years had a well-functioning and well-run cafeteria, Café Pitstop, and last autumn we became part of the School Food Project, a national pilot scheme for school meals.

About the school

Fjerritslev School has around 470 students spread across 0nd-10th grade as well as special classes. We are about 60 engaged staff.

The school is departmentally organized, and teachers and pedagogues work together in teams.

About the position

As a cook or nutrition assistant you will be a central driving force in the ongoing development of our school meal offering, which

• Provides students with healthy, tasty and varied lunches during the school day.
• Inspires good eating habits and curiosity about ingredients and taste experiences.

In addition, we expect that you

• Contribute to the operation of Café Pitstop, where morning snacks and lunch are sold every day. The café also provides food and bread for internal meetings.
• Be flexible with occasional evening meetings or events where food must be prepared.
• Have experience in leading a kitchen and preferably with personnel responsibility.
• Passion for preparing healthy and varied food that appeals to children and young people.
• Be outgoing and service-minded as well as good at engaging with children.

Your tasks

• Develop weekly menus focusing on health, taste and variation.
• Prepare and operate the food offering in Café Pitstop as well as school lunch for the younger students.
• Prepare food for the school’s events, e.g., censor lunches and meetings.
• Contribute to financial management and reducing food waste.
• Handle administrative tasks, including evaluation of the school food project in collaboration with the management.
• Handle goods ordering.

Practical information

• Position: 37 hours per week with the possibility of part-time (minimum 20 hours per week).
• Start: Preferably mid-December 2026, latest 1 January 2027.
• Employment: According to the applicable collective agreement.
• Period: The employment is expected to run until 30 June 2027 with the possibility of extension.
• Working hours: Primarily on school days during daytime.
