About the job
Would you like to be part of a professionally strong forensic psychiatric department, where you can both use your nursing expertise and help support daily operations and development?
Our deputy is on maternity leave - we are therefore seeking a nurse for a maternity position in Forensic Psychiatric Ward P2 in Middelfart.
We are looking for you who want to take part in the leadership task and be a visible and present partner for both staff, patients and the rest of the management. You should want to lead, create overview and contribute to our success with the core task while staying close to clinical practice.
About the position
The position is a fixed-term maternity leave cover for 37 hours per week with start 1 November and expected duration until 1 October 2027.
As an acting head you will work in close collaboration with the chief nurse and the other staff group. You will help support daily operations, ensure quality and coherence in task execution and contribute to the continued development of the ward.
We place emphasis on you being able to have a view of both patients, staff and operations and that you thrive in a daily life where tasks may change and where we help each other find good solutions.
There will be clinical tasks associated with the position, and you must therefore want to continue to be close to the patients and the nursing practice.
About Ward P2
Ward P2 is a closed forensic psychiatric ward with space for 14 patients, including one intensive patient. We receive patients with various mental disorders, often combined with substance abuse, and who have a legal measure or are awaiting one.
We work purposefully to prevent coercion, including through the Safewards method, and we work milieu-therapeutically with interpersonal relations. We focus on seeing the person behind the patient and creating the best conditions for the patient to develop.
P2 is a dynamic and bustling ward with several ongoing development initiatives. We have a strong foundation for delivering nursing and developing the professional expertise.
We are a staff group with can-do attitude, humor and great willingness to be with the patients. We prioritize reflection in all shifts and work purposefully to find the best way together with the patients.
We also attach great importance to close collaboration, where we are safe with each other – also when situations become complex or high-pressure.
As a deputy you will have the opportunity to
- Be close to daily operations and support the chief nurse in the management task
- Help create structure, overview and coherence in the ward's everyday life
- Support the staff in clinical practice and contribute to a good working environment
- Help develop and sustain the ward's professional quality
- Contribute to patient safety, workflows and development
- Be part of a close interdisciplinary collaboration around the patients
- Be a visible and present role model for the staff
- Continue to have close contact with clinical practice and the patients
We are looking for you who
- Are a trained nurse – preferably with a specialization in psychiatry
- Have experience from psychiatry and preferably experience with forensic psychiatry
- Have interest in or experience with leadership and coordination
- Can create overview and remain calm, even when everyday life is unpredictable
- Communicate clearly and respectfully and have an eye for different perspectives
- Can work independently and at the same time be a strong team player
- Have good collaboration skills and can build trust and followership
- Are professionally curious and want to contribute to the ward's development
- Have an eye for both staff well-being, patients' needs and daily operations
- Can handle conflicts and complex situations in a calm and professional manner
- See the person and not only the patient and can naturally engage with relatives
The most important for us is not that you can do everything from the start. The most important is that you want to take responsibility, learn, develop and be an active part of our community.
We offer
- An exciting and varied maternity cover with the opportunity to gain leadership experience
- A workplace with opportunities for influence and professional development
- A close collaboration with the chief nurse and the rest of the management
- Dedicated and professionally capable colleagues
- Supervision every week by a psychologist
- Opportunity for close interdisciplinary collaboration
- Mentor program and thorough introduction
- An work environment where humour, professionalism and decency go hand in hand
- Opportunity to help shape the continued development of ward P2
